Chapter 104 - Warm bodies *

"That is the last of the black crystals."

Tarik was destroying the black energy that was released from the crystals he and Theo collected. His black flame was full-on blasting for a small fire isn't enough to destroy completely the evil aura released. They made it certain that they are far away as possible from the cave Asha is now at. Tarik is worried for his wife who remains unconscious. She is now safe from the black aura but her body needs to recuperate. Tarik was surprised when he saw Theo threw black leeches to be burned as well.

"Black leeches!?"

Theo nods as he watches everything burning in Tarik's flames.

"The young owl found those inside the cave as well. I am certain the fox tribe chief was planning to use those so the female can abandon you and the snake beast. He came and planned everything. He was prepared. The fire in the forest was his doing. His wind controls the fire that was spreading through the forest."

Tarik growls as he glares at the burning leeches. His bulging veins on his neck can be seen from his anger and deep hatred for the fox beast.

"I hope Dumu kills him. I want to shred his body into tiny pieces. He might have started the mating ritual but he did not got the chance to complete it. I do not find traces or any scent from mating."

"I am certain the female has stalled him before he can do anything to her. The female is smart. She is really courageous. She even found a way to hold back the fox chief while waiting for all of us to find her. But still, I am too useless to have not prevented this from happening to her."

Tarik withdraw his hands when everything was destroyed by his flames. He looked at Theo and held his shoulder with his hand, consoling him.

"You did everything you can to save my master. If you did not push through and roared loudly, we would have no idea that you two are already in danger. Thank you for trying to save my master. I cannot imagine what I would do if something more disastrous happened if we did not find her in time."

Theo nods but Tarik can see the depressed and helpless look from his eyes.

"Let us go back."

Shay flew towards the snake beast that is unconsciously lying on the snowy ground. He is already covered in thick snow as the snow storm continuously rage on this part of the mountain range.

He landed quietly beside Dumu and walked around him, observing if the snake beast is really unconscious or not. He morphed to his perfect form then squat beside him. He tried poking him with a dead branch he found lying on the ground a few times. He sighs.

"You already know that this might happen to you but you still chased that fox tribe chief. How silly. How can you protect your mate now you are in deep sleep? So aggressive. You could have died if those two killed you while sleeping like this. You are still lucky."

Shay tried to carry the snake beast but he was too heavy. He won't be able to fly him out of there and just drop him off where the female and the other males are at. He scratches his head in irritation as he sigh again.

"I have no choice but to drag you to the nearest cave. You will be food if the crows that I saw lingering in this part of the island thinks you are already dead."

He grabs Dumu's tail and starts to drag him through the snowy ground while whistling a tune out of boredom.

I think it is time for me to introduce myself to that beautiful female.

Tarik sits beside where Asha lay sleeping. He smiles sadly as he tucks a stray hair behind her ear. But when he felt how cold her cheek was, he began to worry again as he check if every part of her body is cold. He quickly checks her heartbeat by putting his ear on her breast. Theo curiously wonder what Tarik is doing.
