Chapter 136 - The four blood moons (Part 2)*

Mamoru has dropped by again for the nth time at Jonas’ office. He has been doing this almost everyday for the old man is not even requesting but ordering him to show up his face or Jonas would be the one going wherever he is. Mamoru is definitely sure that when this happens, the old man will beat his ass up and he doesn’t want to end waking up in a hospital bed ever again.

Everyone might notice the unusual relationship the two men have but it’s pretty normal for them. Even if their bickering and banter ends up yelling at each other and even cursing, they trust each other the most for they have one thing in common. They love and care for one same woman and they would do everything for her.

Mamoru is seated on his usual seat near the window that overlooks the whole city. Jonas is busy working while the tele is on. It’s always on the news channel and it's the background noise inside his office all the time. Jonas wants to always be updated with what’s going on outside. Even if he’s reading reports on papers scattered in front of his new desk, paid by Mamoru, he still listen to what the reporters are saying.

Mamoru is twirling a pen with his fingers while watching what’s on the tele right now.

“Why d’you listen to these useless piece of trash? It’s the same old shit everyday. Disaster seems to be the only common thing happening all over the world. Earthquakes, sinkholes, hurricanes, flooding, volcanoes erupting… worse are humans fighting each other for power, creating those manmade viruses that kills their own, the rich staying rich while using the poor who gets poorer… the hypocrisy of these humans is very entertaining though. You know that this world is nearing it’s end, right? I can smell the strong scent of negativity and death everywhere.”

Jonas removes his glasses after putting down the papers he was reading. He pinches the bridge of his nose as he tries to relax, “of course I do. Didn’t I told you that I took a peek of the future when I was looking for my Asha, right? It’s just a matter of time. New Earth is almost dead. It’s gonna be dilapidated like the Middle Earth in just a few years.”

“Don’t you wanna save it? My mother-in-law Gaia gave you this world as a gift, right? You don’t want it anymore?”

“It’s not that I don’t want it. What can I do? These pesky humans are worthless ingrates who only knows how to greedily abuse what this world is giving them. Should I save them?”

“My wifey would.”

The two went silent. Only the noise from the tele can be heard. Jonas stares at the window, looking at the other tall buildings around his office.

“I don’t want to turn back time to save this world. Draining my life force just to save these ungrateful bastards is not worth it. Let them all die. Maybe this world will just recuperate when they are all gone after thousands of years. I’m sick and tired of humans. Maybe I’ll create a new kind of being to live here after the apocalypse. A reset button is needed for this world.”

“Middle Earth is sitting duck for ages and is it even healing itself? Only celestial powers can speed up things so it can be habitable again. I’ll bring my wifey there and we can rule that world. We’ll be the Adam and Eve of Middle Earth. Gonna fuck like rabbits to repopulate. Mmm I like the sound of it…,” Mamoru is lost in his thoughts while smiling.

“Will you use your ability, that is if you have one, to save this world in exchange of your life force? Lemme hear what you have to say then.”

“Pfft! Why do I have to? Asha’s not even here. This world can burn and die for all I care. I will follow where my wifey is. How about you? Where will you go if this world reaches the end?”

Jonas shrugs before reclining on his chair, “I might go back to the celestial realm with the Zodiacs with me. As long as the restriction Gaia and Nabu made on the Old Earth is present, I can never get there. You haven’t told me your plans yet you doofus. How are you gonna go there? I’ve been calling you here everyday to discuss it with me but your lazy ass will just sleep on the couch or just laze around.”
