Chapter 52 - The King's Invitation

"Be careful dear. Watch your step...."

Souta is leading his female as they walk around the streets of Baylor. Her swollen belly is almost due that is why Souta has been on the edge lately. His female will give birth to his cub any day now but their witch doctor is now captured by Barda and the problem with the wolves is still not resolved making the beasts in Baylor anxious and panicked.

Baylor is a kingdom but even if it is considered as one, they can't be deemed as one of the strongest and most stable for all of the united tribes forming Baylor are beasts that are not skilled in fighting.

Baylor is a kingdom composed of herbivores. Sheep, deer and goats mostly reside and are the locals in this kingdom. The horse tribe governs the whole kingdom for the beasts believed that they are the strongest of all them herbivores.

And because their territory is already known as one of the kingdoms in the beast world, the wolf village, wanted to take over so they can rule Baylor. The wolf village is not as big as Baylor. But since the red wolves and gray wolves who are very competent and are known with good combat skills make up the whole village itself, with their ambitious chief Barda, they are confident that they can take over the herbivore kingdom.

That is why these two groups have a feud ongoing for a long time. The peaceful herbivores protecting their territory from the assertive carnivores. Little do the herbivores know that inside the wolf village, an internal dispute is slowly breaking up the tribe.

"Magnum, the apples that you gave me yesterday are ripe and sweet. Where did you get those? I really want to have some more."

Giada looked back at his brother who is following her and her mate while they stroll around Baylor.

"Did you like those? I bought them from the travelling merchants that visited Baylor. I think they have new stocks for they went outside yesterday to gather more."

"Travelling merchants? What kind of beasts are those?"

"They are wandering beasts that sells things in places that they visit. They are a pair of mates. You will probably find them interesting sister, especially the female."

Giada's eyes widen in surprise, "a female? She is not part of a village? This is my first time to hear such female!"

"I do not know if she is part of a village or not. It is a bit hard to have a conversation with the female for her mate is one dangerous and overprotective beast."

Giada sigh as she continues to stroll around with her mate who is just listening to their siblings conversation as he looks around and smiles at his fellow beasts who bows at him in greetings as they pass by.

"Do you know where they are staying? I wish to buy some apples from them."

Magnum points at the crowd not far in front of them.

"See that crowd? That is where they are staying. Many beasts are buying their fruits and vegetables for everyone is afraid to get out of Baylor because of the wolves."

"But they are not scared to go out? You said they went out to gather yesterday."

Magnum shakes his head, "her mate is a six-starred snake beast. Why would she be scared to go out? And I think the female is not ordinary too. She sounds smart if you hear her talk. And she knows things, she is the one who woke up Buck from being unconscious last night."

"Oho! Is my head guard interested with the female? It is my first time to hear you compliment another female aside from your sister."

Giada giggles when she saw her brother blush, "now I am Really interested in meeting this female. Hurry up you two or we will not be able to buy some of their apples."
