I hurried through the schools corridors, holding my hat in my hands as otherwise it definitely would've flown off my head, my cloak bowing in the breeze throughout the castle.

"-Against the dark arts teacher, Professor Lupin." I quietly slipped into the Great Hall as the announcement was made, although the doors weren't particularly quiet over Dumbledores words. "And finally joining us," I forced an awkward smile as I settled my witches hat onto my head once more, bringing my hair over my shoulders. "Miss Sayre, who will be this years Care for Magical Creatures teacher." I hurried up to the teachers table and situated myself beside McGonagall and the newly appointed Professor Lupin. "Thank you for joining us, Professor." I nodded with a forced smile again at Dumbledore's words.

"Welcome back, Miss Sayre." McGonagall's iconic accent laced her words, a genuine smile crossing my lips.

"Thank you..." I looked to my right just as Lupin looked away from me. "Been a while....Remus..." He glanced to me out of the corner of his eye as we were all instructed to be seated to begin the first meal of the year.

"Almost 14 years..." He sighed. I hummed, adjusting my hat again.

"Minnie, do I really have to-"

"If you have nothing else suitable to wear, then yes." I pouted at her response, she knew what I was going to say. Remus spoke as I rest my head on my fist, my elbow on the table.

"What made you stay away?" He asked as he watched over the students. I glanced to him, not moving my hand.

"Sirius' arrest." I shrugged, lowering my voice. "But he's out now....so thought I'd reappear too." The light shade of this man's eyes fully moved to me.

"Where'd you disappear to? Sirius was arrested and like Peter, you fell off the face of the earth..." I shrugged with a smile.

"Wouldn't you like to know, Moony." He shook his head with a chuckle.

"At least you're alive." He playfully nudged my arm.

"Yeah...I'm sorry about James and Lily...I never got the chance to say it..." Remus smiled, nodding out to the sea of students.

"Even with what happened to them, Harry grew into a fine young lad, Gryffindor just like them." I looked to the table, spotting a boy almost identical to James...except for his eyes. He had his mother's...piercing and green.

"He looks just like him....its uncanny, isn't it Professor?" I turned to Minnie for her opinion and she nodded with a smile.

"His friend, Granger, reminds me of Lupin. Weasley reminding me of yourself." My attention was back in the trio, and I could see what she meant.

"I get what you mean..." I smiled softly, watching the trio interact with each other. Out of the corner of my eye I could see Remus staring at me with a similar smile.

"You know, just because Padfoot disappeared, it didn't mean you had to..." I shrugged at his words, my chin resting on my hand as my elbow rest on the hard wood of the table. "We lost everyone that night. We were torn apart, all the marauders-"

"Not quite." Harry's eyes caught mine and I offered him a smile and a small wave, a smile to which he returned, as bright as ever. "I may have disappeared to the marauders...but I'd never leave my nephew." Remus looked from me and over to Harry. "As James' sister, and Harry's remaining magical relative, I thought I'd keep in contact with the boy...tell him about magic and his parents as he got older..." Remus looked to McGonagall beside me, who had t wanted anyone aside from Lily's sister's family to have contact with him. "McGonagall allowed it...as long as I never saw him...we'd sit on phone calls, I'd send him letters, photographs, all that..." my smile grew a tiny bit more. "He knows about you, Remus, who you are to him, to his father..." I shifted my attention to the man who was surprised at these revelations. "And Sirius, even though he'd gone into hiding."

"Hiding? He was in Azkaban, it was all over the newspaper and everything-" He whispered harshly, and I giggled to myself, slipping a photo to him.

"No he wasn't." Remus' eyes moved to the photo on the table in front of him. A family portrait type photo. "He was with me, the entire, time." A cheeky grin crossed my lips when he looked back up. "Benefits of working for the papers back then, huh?" Behind me Remus saw McGonagall hiding her smile behind interlocked hands.

"Whose is, and who is, this little child?" He pointed to the child in the photo, the little bundle of joy in my arms, a small toddler dressed in a little jumper, trousers, and adorable little shoes.

"My son." I smiled softly, looking across the great hall.

"You have a son?" I nodded with a smile, still searching. McGonagall noticed and pointed over to the Hufflepuff table. And immediately I spotted him. I lifted my hand and subtly pointed about halfway down the table at a taller than average 3rd year of quite a slim build. Dark, curly - but rather lengthy - hair, lazily tied up with his wand acting as a hair band to keep it secured.

"Arcturus Fleamont Black..." I saw the now 13 year old talking to his friends and glancing over to me every now and then, the warmest smile on his sweet little face.

"You and Sirius..." I nodded as he went back to the picture. "You're pregnant in this picture, you have two children?" I nodded enthusiastically and pointed near Harry.

"My daughter, beautiful little thing." She was almost the spitting image of me when I was her age, aside from her hair colour, which she evidently got from her father. "She got sorted today I believe?" I looked to Minerva and she nodded.

"A Gryffindor, just like her parents."

"A Gryffindor and a hufflepuff..."

"We named her Theodora Lilian Black." Remus' smile twisted with confusion but with amusement too.

"Theodora?" I nodded with a smile.

"Sirius' idea." Remus chuckled.

"What a little shit." He continued to laugh to himself, and a pulled a face.

"What?" He shook his head, settling down to a smile before speaking.

"My son's called Edward..." The softest of smiles replaced his amused one. "We call him Teddy..." My smile broke into an even bigger one.

"We call Theodora that too. Although she spells it T-E-D-I...Not sure why, but that's how she's always spelt it..." I sighed, happy we were all slowly coming together again. "I didn't know you had a son, Moony." I playfully nudged him. "Guess you finally settled down, huh?" He nodded.

"Her name's Tonks, she hates being called her first name."

"Oh yeah? It can't be that bad, can't it?" He shrugged.

"Nymphadora Tonks." I sat and thought for a moment.

"Sirius' cousins kid?" Remus stared at me in surprise.

"You know of her?" I nodded, repeatedly.

"Yeah, I've gone through Sirius' family tree so many times, I'd recognise her name anywhere. She's Draco Malfoy's cousin. Andromeda's daughter, right?" He nodded. "You're happy with her?" He slowly nodded again and I smiled. "Good!" I quietly clapped my hands together. "And if you think about it, now all the marauders are basically related! Distantly but still!"

Remus laughed at my words but still nodded, smiling, as he now knew not all of his friends were gone.
