Law POV

Instead of staying at the dance to watch that blond tree get closer to the biggest distraction in my life, I sat in the basement of Shachi's house leaning back in the old computer chair that he had pulled out for me. He was nervously fiddling with his fingers as he passed me a thin packet of information in a manilla folder. I looked at the sharpie that was scribbled across the front and looked up at him with a quirked eyebrow.

Femme Fatale ID Report

"What is this, and why were you looking into an all but irrelevant assassin from a gang we have no qualms with?" I questioned as I tossed the file onto the folding card table and threaded my fingers together.

He cleared his throat and pushed it back towards me. "I have hard evidence that... (Y/n) Beckmann is in fact Femme Fatale, and therefore something you as boss should be thoroughly informed about," he answered with a nervous tone.

I came here to get away from thoughts of her... but I wouldn't be entirely surprised. She is much more skilled than your average eighteen year old, and not to mention her actions don't always line up with a normal civilian.

I hummed as I opened the file, looking over the information included in the overwhelming lack of evidence on the famed assassin. Ten bounty posters, starting at $900,000 with the epithet of 'Mad Dog', then increasing to $1,000,000, then $10,000,000 with the epithet of 'Hand of Red', following up with $100,000,000, then $150,000,000, then $200,000,000 with a change to 'The Executioner', followed by two more jumps and the final epithet change to 'Femme Fatale' and her most recent bounty at $700,000,000.

A detailed list of victims and signatures immediately followed the fliers. It had easily close to 150 names, dates, similar modes of death, and a handkerchief color, later pressed with a blood red kiss mark which lead to her final epithet change. I scanned the information over again before looking back at Shachi.

"How do you know that this is (Y/n) Beckmann? I believe you think you know but you also know I need that hard evidence you say you have to make a decision," I questioned as he fiddled again. I was tempted to cut off his hands to separate them myself.

He nodded before pulling out a flash drive and plugged it into his laptop. He loaded the folder he needed and clicked on an audio file. I listened intently as (Y/n)'s smooth voice played through the speakers.

"Benn? What's wrong? I thought you couldn't contact me until you got home?"

"I need you to come get me out. I got found out somehow and now I'm on the run from the Big Mom Family." I guessed that was Benn, her guardian and adoptive brother. A few gunshots punctuated his sentence as shuffling could be heard.

"Okay, Shanks is out but I'll be there as soon as I can. What's the rendezvous?"

"Behind the Chateau, I'll meet you in 6 hours."

The call ended and Shachi selected a different audio file, speaking before he hit play. "There were a few suspected reports of foul play during the assassination attempt, rumored to be from Red Hair's side. The odd part was that the only death from the foul play was... Benn Beckmann himself." He took a deep breath and pulled out some different papers as he passed them to me. "It was a treasure chest from the Fishmen, Shanks had made a deal with them to send the box from them with a 'present' from himself and to make sure it would be placed to be opened last. It was an odd request that didn't make much sense which was why I was able to find it, but that box was loaded with enough dynamite to destroy the structural integrity of the Chateau itself and just happened to land on one of Shanks' own men."
