TW - Mention of Suicidal Ideation
(pls take care of urself ❤️)

The weekend was a blur of assuring everyone that I wasn't going to do anything like that again and Thatch babying the hell out of me. Killer had blown up my phone as soon as he had woken up on Friday and refused to go more than an hour without checking on me even though he got probably the most vague text out of everyone.

Me: I love you.

Kama-chan: I love you too
Kama-chan: Is everything okay?
Kama-chan: (Y/n) please answer

Me: I'm okay, just had a rough night
Me: I'm staying at a friend's for a bit

Kama-chan: Okay...

Kama-chan: You sure you're okay?
Kama-chan: (N/n)?
Kama-chan: I'll fuckin track your phone, pls answer

Me: I'm okay, I promise
Me: Note to self, don't say ily to you lol

Kama-chan: You know damn well that's not why I'm doing this
Kama-chan: But if you say so
Kama-chan: And you can tell me that as often as you want <3

Me: lol okay
Me: I'm gonna be a lil busy so don't expect immediate answers
Me: I love you, dumbass

Kama-chan: I love you too <3
Kama-chan: And I'm only like that with your dumbass cause ik you :P

I sighed as I reread the near exact repeats of that conversation over Saturday and Sunday's messages too. Thatch looked at my phone oddly every time his name came up with an 'I love you' under it. I just shrugged it off.

"Why does he say that so often," he finally asked on the way to school as yet another 'I love you' came through.

I laughed lightly and glanced at him as he drove. "What's wrong with saying I love you to the homies? Also, we were in the same orphanage until Benn picked me out," I explained with a joke.

He nodded slowly. "So it's like siblings?" he asked, oddly carefully.

"Kinda?" I hummed. "We're kinda more like estranged childhood friends, but I guess siblings could also fit."

He nodded as he pulled into the parking lot. It was early as all hell so I decided to sit out front while he got his class situated for the day. I sat on one of the benches and scrolled through my phone fought against the cold wind. I was shivering by time the first few students started filtering into the lot.

I let out a puff of foggy breath as Roci opened the doors. He peaked his head out and almost fell over when he spotted me.

"Oh my god! (N/n)! Why the hell didn't you knock?" he whisper shouted at me.

I let a visible shiver. "I may have forgot that was an option?" I nervously chuckled. "I will be going in now though, it's colder than shit out here."

He waved me in as I waddled under his arm into the warmth. I let out a sigh and pulled off my coat, Roci immediately snatching it from my arms. He stole my beanie too, patting my hair down as it puffed up from the static.

"You're ridiculous sometimes, (N/n). Come here, I'll get you some tea," he insisted as he gently pushed me into his office.

I pat his arm gently before he could move to the kettle. "I can do it, we know your track record with heating elements," I joked as I took his place.
