"Hey," he said in his sleepy voice.

I withdrew my hands from him and looked away, feeling very embarrassed.

"You are awake," he said.

I got on my feet and moved away from him a bit, rubbing my arms slightly.

I sensed him getting on his feet as well.

"It is morning already. It will be easier to find a way back," he said.

I looked at him momentarily, taking in his height instantly.

"Okay. Lets uh.... let's get on with it." I said nervously and without looking at him.

He was silent, and I sensed him looking at me.

What's his problem? Why is he looking at me like that?

"Are you okay?"

I looked at him. "What?"

He reached for me, but I moved away from him, making his face twitch.

"What is wrong?"

"Nothing. Let's go," I said, walking past him.

"Hey, where are you going?" He asked, following me behind.

I didn't respond but kept walking towards a random part of the forest.

"Hey, stop being stubborn before you meet another cliff."

I scoffed. "Well, it is daytime. I will be able to see one before I...." He grabbed my arm, brought me closer.

"Hey!"

"What is with the mood swing all of a sudden?"

"Let go! Stop grabbing me like that." I struggled, making him release me.

"What is your problem, huh? Thanks to me, you are alive and breathing right now."

I scoffed. "Oh really?"

"Yes,"

"I remember helping you save me by pulling myself up."

He scoffed, looking away.

"So rephrase that and say thanks to us, I am alive and breathing."

"I did most of the saving, Rose."

"Most of it. Not all of it." I corrected.

"What is your problem with me? Why do you hate me so much?"

I scoffed in disbelief. "Are you seriously asking me that?"

I heaved a sigh.

"Wait, has the king demon lost his memory or something? I don't get it."

"Stop calling me that," he said, gritting his teeth.

I folded my hands. "What are you going to do, huh?"

He stared at me.

"Bully me?"

He didn't respond.

"This is not Starville. Or are you the king of the jungle as well? Do you bully trees too?"

He looked away.

"You know I am the queen here."

He looked at me.

"Yes, because I am familiar with places like this. I know how to survive in a place like this. I used to live in a small town and my best friends and I would spend time in places like this. It is you I am sorry for."
