Caesar's Rose

Chapter 103

Rose withdrew her eyes from CJ as she held her mother's hand nervously and tightly, pouring all her uneasiness into her grip.

God, I shouldn't have come. Rose said instantly as they got closer to the audience.

Among the audience, Barbara elbowed Leila, claiming her attention.

"Look who the cat just dragged in," Barbara said, claiming Sandra's attention as well, and they all scowled at Rose.

"Look at her dress," Barbara rasped, irritated.

"How could she afford that dress?" Leila asked.

"It looks like it is worth a lot, but I must say it is pretty," Sandra said.

Leila and Barbara gave Sandra a sore stare.

Sandra raised her hand slightly. "Just saying."

"Shut up, Sandra," Barbara snapped.

"Okay, sorry." Sandra said, rolling her eyes.

Leila glared at Rose and looked to the distance at her left and saw Jane scowling at Rose as well.

As if she knew, Jane looked at Leila and they locked eyes.

Leila smirked.

Jane nodded slightly.

At a different spot but among the audience as well, the twin's mother stopped halfway in sipping her drink the minute she sighted Rose's mother and Rose too.

"What is that slut doing here with her slut daughter?" She asked, diverting her husband's attention to Rose's mother.

He froze at the sight of her and his daughter. His heart melted as he admired their appearance. He is beyond surprised and at the same time pleased to see them here.

Claudia looks stunning in her....

"If you don't stop looking at that slut and her beggar daughter, I will wipe that smile with this cold champagne." His wife snatched him off his thoughts.

He heaved a sigh as he looked away from them, sipping his champagne.

Rose and her mother stood close to the audience. She made sure they stood behind some people so that CJ and his father wouldn't see them.

What's the use? They have seen me already.

She thought, letting out a breath to comport herself.

"Thank you, dear family and friends," Mrs Imperial said with a mic, making Rose look in that direction.

"I want to say thank you all for showing up for my husband and I. You are all welcome to our home. I ask that you all help yourselves and enjoy the party. Have some fun, everybody!" She squealed, making everyone cheer happily.

Rose's lips formed a smile at CJ's grandmother's cheerful spirit.

"She is something. And very beautiful too." Rose's mother said, clapping with the audience.

"No wonder Mr Caesar is very handsome," Rose's mother said, adding to Rose's uneasiness as she stared at the family.

Mr and Mrs Imperial are now standing close to their five-layer of iced cake. The couple cut their cake as the audience clapped, and the photography team took pictures of them.

Caesar and CJ were standing in between the couple as they should and Rose found herself checking CJ out.

His wine-colored suit gave him away as a full adult instead of the teenager that he is. The suit is fitted, and his hair is shiny like he applied gel.
