"You heard me, Caesar. Your son is dating her now, so stop whatever it is you are feeling for her right now."

Caesar clenched his knuckles angrily but remained calm.

"How did you know that?" He asked.

She shrugged. "Leila, my daughter, used to be your son's girlfriend. He dumped her for that brat."

Caesar gritted his teeth as he listened.

"She told me how your son knelt down before that brat in front of the entire school and asked her to be his girlfriend. He even announced his love for her to the entire school. Your son has no fucking shame."

Caesar gritted his teeth angrily. "Did she accept?" He asked.

"What?"

"Did....she accept to be his girlfriend?" He asked, trying so hard to comport himself.

"Yes, she did." She answered.

Anger and adrenaline filled him as his thoughts wondered. He recalled the way Rose was staring at CJ at his parents' house.

He noticed the chemistry between them, but he waved it off.

Now, he is hearing this?

Seriously?!

STARVILLE HIGH

AT THE LOCKERS SPOT

Rose opened her locker and selected the books in her hands. She put other books into her locker and held back her History and Math notebooks. She took out her pen and closed the locker, only to find CJ leaning next to her locker.

She flinched.

"Oops. Sorry I startled you" he said, smiling.

She scowled at him and turned to walk away.

"Hey, hey," he said, walking in front of her.

"What the hell do you want?" She asked, looking at him.

He stared at her lips, recalling the hot kiss they had earlier today.

"To kiss you," he said, smirking.

Her face heated up as her heart raced.

"Go to hell, CJ," she said, walking past him.

"I just want to invite you to my grandparents' wedding anniversary." He said, stopping her on her track.

Rose scoffed internally, reminding herself that his father had already invited her.

"My grandmother wants you to come," he said.

Rose stood there without turning to him.

"I would love you to come," he added.

Rose thought about telling him that his father had already invited him but not. She walked ahead without saying a word to him.

CJ heaved a sigh as he watched her heading for the entrance door.

He turned to walk back but froze at the sight of Jane standing in front of him with her hands folded.

"The fuck?" He muttered.

"You are inviting her to your grandparents' party? What about me? Why haven't you invited me? What is going on with you?"

"Buzz off," CJ said nonchalantly, walking past her.

She let out a tiny whimper as she turned and stared at him with her brimming eyes.
