My heart raced at a high pace and I stared at him. I can't believe he is standing right here in front of me and at my door at this time!

His eyes are on me and my heart is racing continuously.

"Did you invite him?" Mum asked, reminding me of her presence.

"Huh?" I asked, looking at her.

She raised a brow at me.

"N...no. I didn't invite him." I stuttered.

"She didn't, but I sent her texts to let her know that I was coming." CJ said, making me look at him with furrowed brows.

Texts? Oh Gosh.

I am not with my phone. I left it in the room, so I could focus.

"Texts?" Mum asked.

"Yes, ma'am. We are project partners, so we communicate because of it." he said.

"Project partners," mum said, looking at me.

"The work I was uh.....I was doing in the living room." I said.

"Oh. You have a partner. And he is the one." Mum said, looking at CJ.

"Yes, ma'am," CJ said.

"Did she tell you where she lives?" Mum asked.

"N..no. Her location was on, so I used the GPS." He said, his eyes moved to me.

I shook my head slightly, looking away.

"Well, Mr Imperial....."

"It's CJ." He cut in, making me look at him.

"Please call me CJ." He added.

"Right, CJ. It is late. You can't be here." Mum said.

"I know, ma'am. I am sorry, but we had limited time to submit our project." He said, making my mum look at me.

"I have been busy with a lot lately. I barely have time to work on it with her. I beg you to please let me work on the project with her. I will leave once it is ten pm." CJ said very politely.

I stared at him all through. This is really serious. Who is he, and what had he done with CJ?

His eyes moved to me.

I averted my eyes from him.

"Won't your father be worried?" Mum asked.

I scoffed internally. Yeah, right. He doesn't care, mum.

"No. He won't." He answered, making me look at him.

He is calm and eager to join me on the project.

It is not necessary. He could just sit back and let me do it like I usually do.

"Alright then, come in," mum said.

I heaved a sigh.

CJ smiled. "Thank you, ma'am." He said, walking past us and into the house.

His scent messed with my nose, adding to my racing heart.

CJ is literally in our house.

This is really intriguing.

I folded my arms as I stared at him. He is looking around our house, taking in the esthetics.

Of course, this place is no match for his place. It is just....

"Nice place you have here, ma'am." He complimented, looking at us.

I scoffed internally.

"Well, we have your dad to thank for that," Mum said.
