Bakugo had ran through both warp gates in the lowly lit room, and they both lead to the same place. If he ran through the one at the door, he'd fall through the ceiling and if he jumped through the ceiling he'd have a mass gravity shift as he fell though the door.
"We're stuck." Komi deduced, slumping to a corner on the ground.
There was no windows, no doors. Just four walls, a roof and a single candle. A single candle that was offering the light in the room.
Komi had moved the candle inbetween her and Bakugo, because they were not going to be sitting next to each other.
Komi was on one side, and Bakugo on the other. So far, it had been 3 hours maybe. There was no sun light, but the candle had melted down a bit and Komi just felt like that was right. She had been watching the candle in that time. Watching the flicker and flutter of the flames as it danced in the trapped room.
She had already had a quick sob about it. It wasn't dramatic or anything since Bakugo was in the room, but Komi had lost her composure when she knew there were no villains or cameras in the room she was in, and she needed a moment to collect herself.
Bakugo had allowed that moment.
Neither of them had talked.
Not since...well, not since when she picked on him for the way he cut his carrots. That felt stupid now. Something was dumb as carrots was the last conversation they had before being abducted. Before Komi found out her mother was alive and a nomu, before things went to shit.
Glancing away from the candle light, Komi looked to Bakugo. There was a small cut on the skin below his elbow, just along the side. It looked like a knife cut.
"Are you hurt?" Komi asked, her eyes heavy from lack of sleep, but there was no way she was even going to try sleeping like this. Bakugo didn't move much, but for his eyes. He just looked at Komi, no undertone, no glaring... just looking.
Komi hated it.
"Your arm, are you hurt?"
Bakugo glanced at his arm, then to Komi. He scoffed. "You're unreal."
Komi bit her tongue and looked back down. She didn't have to say it, but she didn't know that she did. "I was only asking."
If she cared enough, maybe Komi would've slapped a hand over her mouth and apologised. But she didn't so she wouldn't.
Bakugo took a whole minute and 22 seconds before coming up with what he was gonna say next. "I meant you're unreal because your sitting over there, mouth bleeding after you got your tooth pulled out and you're asking if a weak little cut on my arm hurts. Be realistic."
"Realistic." Oop, maybe Komi was maybe a comeback. "I don't know how much more real I want things to get."
"...Huh?"
Komi scoffed, finally letting it all sink in. "Did you end up fighting a villain, Bakugo? I think you did, it would just make sense. I only ran away from a few, but you something? You know something, Bakugo? The first villain I ran away from, it was my own mother."
Komi leaned forward on the word 'mother', despite her aches and sores. "She was a Nomu. She called me bug! You remember when those villains got into the school and tried to take Shoto? When that man tried to..."
Bakugo noticed that.
Komi shook her head and forced herself into an upright position on the wall again. "....She was the Nomu there...my quirk doesn't sense her because she's my mother -she's meant to be dead too, so maybe I can't sense the harm a dead person might bring me..."
Bakugo stayed quiet for another 23 minutes. He was thinking, and due to literally not being able to do anything, he had time to think. "I bet shitty hair or dunce face would've laughed at that."
