Komi felt herself being thrown to the ground, the cold in her neck just getting colder and colder as the day went on. She didn't know where she was. She gripped her fingers into her palms and stayed still and observant as possible on the floor.
"What the hell'd you do to her!" Bakugo yelled, but Komi couldn't tell where he was.
A few minutes before,
"We are here to apologise." Bakugo watched with a firm face as Aizawa showed up on the TV. He was back in the chair, arms bound, but Komi was nowhere to be seen. He hadn't seen her for a long time, and the thought wasn't very comforting.
But Shigaraki had turned on the TV to a press conference where Aizawa, Vlad King and the principal were being interviewed. Although Bakugo was never going to show it, he was kinda shocked that Aizawa would be showing himself on TV.
He makes it very noticble that he hates the media and does his best to fuck off and away from it. But here he was, all dressed up and clean and shaven.
"A recent incident allowed harm to 27 first year students. And we staff, were ill prepared. We take any responsibility for any trauma caused by our negligence. It's our duty to train heroes, but also protect heroes in training."
They all bowed and one of the villains made a comment. Bakugo didn't hear it nor did he want to.
"I'll take the first question!" A needy sounding reporting started. "Since the beginning of the year, UA students have had five encounters with villains. This time, there were students who were gravely injured. How did you explain this to their families -and what are some of the specific steps you're taking to ensure the safety of these students in the future."
The media should know what UA's basic position is since they didn't cancel the sports festival. They just want the school to look bad. They were treating them, if anything, like villains.
"We will increase patrols around the school grounds, and review security measures within the school. The safety of UA's students is out number one priority -make no mistake about it." Nezu explained.
"Isn't that strange?" Shigaraki turned off the TV and turned on his backless moving chair towards Bakugo. "The heroes are becoming the bad guys. Seems like they're not dealing with this very well at all. So much criticism. But everyone makes a mistake or two, right? It's not like they're supposed to be perfect."
Bakugo knew damn well this was a manipulation tactic. Trying to seem relatable, trying to get his guard down...But it wouldn't work.
"Modern-day sure have it rough, don't you think, Bakugo?"
He didn't answer.
"Once a hero receives payment to protect people, they aren't a real hero anymore." Spinner, the Stain Cosplayer added. "That's what Stain's actions taught us."
"A hero in this system only cares about money and glory. And society buys in those idiotic rules. Anyone deemed a loser is shoved aside." Shigaraki carried on. "So we want to pose some questions. What is a hero, what is justice. Is this society truly fair? Soon, everyone will be asking. That's when we know we've won....And you like winning, don't you."
Bakugo huffed and glared harder. He knew what the villains were asking of him. "Where is she?"
"Oh, you're friend?" Shigaraki raised his hands, "She's just in the other room! She can probably hear us right now."
