chapter so bad the title is called trigger warning. do not take that lightly.
At first, Komi didn't think the Hero Internship would go through seeing as how Aizawa said they wouldn't. However, if a student could get an agency to take them in as an Intern and the school can put trust into them, then it was no problem.
Komi was already in the Endeavour agency...as was Shoto, despite him not having the provisional license yet.
Today was Komi's first day at Endeavour's actual agency. And it was also one of the first times that Komi was without Shoto. And yes, as pathetic as that sounds, the two were nearly inseparable, not even needing to have a reason to just be in each others presence.
It just sorted helped to have someone who knows what your life was like. To understand you, it would make sense that Komi and Shoto were close. Blood or not, they were siblings. Periodt.
"Kuyami." And yet, despite how much Komi was close to Shoto, there was still Endeavour who simply just didn't get it. He didn't understand, that's why Komi didn't like him. She respected him, of course, but liking him?....That was a different story. "I'm doing some confidential work on a drug case that I can't share much about so I won't be around today."
As much as Komi hated that, it also made sense. He was the current number one, and until the polls came in, it was going to stay that way. Meaning he had some work he had to prioritise over other things. Komi could understand. Komi did understand -it was Endeavour that just made things harder.
"One of my sidekicks will go on a patrol with you. She should be in the main lobby, her name's Burnin', remember that."
"Yes sir." Komi nodded her head. And before she left, she did the world's smallest bow.
The lobby, she repeated in her head. Komi had to remember where that was. But she couldn't. She made her way to the reception, which, for some reason, wasn't the lobby. In fact, when Komi looked to the map, there wasn't any sign nor indication of a lobby anywhere in the building, which was just fine and dandy.
Komi glanced around, trying to look for some pro-hero sidekicks who could point Komi in the right direction. When she found a small group, hugging around each other, not really doing much other than look through photos on their phone, Komi pulled herself and walked up to them.
"Excuse me, sorry for bothering you, but I was just wondering if any of you know where the lob-" Komi was being polite so they would hopefully like her and help her out.
"Ha!" One of the hero suddenly chirped, the gum in his mouth nearly falling out. "I was wrong fellas, the answer did just walk on up to us!"
Komi opened and closed her mouth, confusion on her face. "Pardon?"
The guy with the gum nudged one of the other heroes who know put his phone away. "And she's got the manners. Hey, lady, how would you like to be one of Endeavour's favourite sidekicks?"
Komi deflated her shoulders as she realised what was going on. It was obvious these people didn't know who she was -not to sound like she expected them to, but considering her face was plastered everywhere when she was kidnapped during the training camp, she was potentially recognised on the streets.
"Oh, I think you misunderstood, I'm not looking for a side job, I have to find Burnin'...I was told to." Komi added, and hopefully these guys would drop it.
One of the men in the group scoffed, leaning back against the wall with a dismissive wave of his hand. "Listen, lady, Burnin' might strut around like she's Endeavour's favorite just because she tags along on all his missions, but trust me, she's all talk."
