The noirette woman only attended this school just over a year ago. She dropped half at around the end of her first year, but it felt like she never really belonged to the school. There were very few heteromorphs that were heroes and even fewer who were accepted, despite they had been around since the first generation of quirks. 4 generations later, and people were still disgusted.
And UA was no different for Emiri.
Emiri was top of her class when she got into the UA hero course, but for her looks, she was shunned out and it affected her too much. People called her a villain just because she was born with a face like that and a quirk so ill. The first villainous act she did, was when she attacked one of the girls bullying her -and she didn't hold back her strength, so the girl was seriously injured and Emiri was suspended for a while. After that, her grades got worse, and so did her behavior.
Then, when the old lady in the hospital room fell sick for a few weeks and Emiri got pregnant, she decided to drop out.
With no friends and no living family -she lived with her baby daddy, Itsuki, and to avoid tax, they got married. A wonderful, loveless marriage. Not so long after, he got arrested for grand theft auto and Emiri was without money.
And so, the once hero-inspired girl became a common petty theif. Going to markets and picking off foods from tray table. With all those extra limbs, she got good with it. She wouldn't do much, and she never did it to benefit herself. After all, she had a baby girl to worry about.
Well...that was at least one of two guys that could've been the baby daddy. Emiri only met that other one for one night, and she wasn't even sure if they did anything...
But her daughter, the green eyed Kuyami Gogo Shizuki, who was the happiest baby Emiri has ever met -always smiling and rarely the prolonged crier, she was Emiri's night and day. Emiri became very skinny, which would prompt men in the street to think she was weak. However, with a quirk like her's, Emiri was often found the blame of many 'assaults' on men around the places she walked.
She wasn't on billboards or any most wanted lists, but her criminal record had since been collecting data since she dropped out and had her baby girl.
And recently, nothing had been too great for the Shizuki's. Money wise, there was nothing wise about it. Itsuki, that deadbeat, good for nothing, piece of shit had gotten out of jail a while ago and still hasn't returned to that crappy one bedroom apartment with half a bathroom in the kitchen.
But today -or this night even, wasn't going to be about that.
No. Instead, Emiri had hired a pretty kimono for herself and even a formal baby cloth for Kuyami. The reason for this, was that tonight was the second Tuesday of October, and UA was hosting the annual October Lantern Festival. So, Emiri was dressing pretty and dolling up her little girl -spoiling her the very best that she could.
Walking up to the place she used to call her school, the familiar walls and carving -and occasional graffiti felt off to Emiri. She always had this feeling in her gut when something felt wrong -like an insane intuition that could churn her stomach. Of course, it didn't help now that she was very skinny -so often very hungry. And when that gut feeling rose, she passed it off as her hunger.
With Kuyami on her hip, Emiri walked the line of lit up candle to the bottom of the school, passing the cubed 'H' building.
Kuyami cooed in her arms and Emiri felt a sense of pure joy. Here she was -in a moment of her life where she was meant to be sad or anger at the world, but how could she when she had little Kuyami? Her little bug.
Booping her nose, Emiri chuckled as Kuyami tried to grab her finger and bite it.
And as she played with her baby, she missed the eyes of the group of 4 that lingered on her with curled lips and blaming eyes.
Emiri pointed out the pretty lights to Kuyami, and the young baby tried to reach out to them. Emiri stole a few rice balls from one of the many packed stalls that the school kids of UA -many of which she recognized to be her classmates and peers -from nearly 11 months ago- but she tried to not pay any mind to them.
She also tried not to draw too much attention, as she was a criminal in a hero school. Whoopsie daisies.
