There was a scar trailed across Bakugo's cheek. It was from long ago, as it would seem, since it had healed nicely, and the baby-face that Bakugo had -and no one even knew about- had along faded away. This Bakugo was older, much older than the one Komi knows.
He wore clothes, casual ones. An expensive shirt, good pants and some big brand coat Komi didn't know the name of.
He had just give someone flowers... It was Komi. He had just handed her a bouquet of big, beautiful purple flowers.
He only said one thing really. Komi didn't know the reason why either.
Komi woke up in the hospital room, all alone. It was a big room too, and there was an IV attached to her, pumping in something she didn't have the time to read. She didn't do much, and she didn't have to try hard to remember much either.
She didn't remember her dream, as so to speak, but she remembered real life. What happened after the hospital raid and... everything in-between.
All she could do was cry.
23 Hours Before...
Blood.
A whole rain show of blood that followed from where Bakugo jumped into the sky to save his boyfrie- I MEAN! TO save Midoriya. He leapt up and saved Midoriya...
And in return, he was awarded with a rods of black and red, sharp and jaggard, piercing through his skin.
A voice fell to whisper in Komi's ears for a moment, a whisper that quickly turned into a scream, a yell, a cry of anger.
Protect his heart, that voice bellowed at her. Komi's quirk allowed her to know when things were going down, when there was danger, but Katsuki Bakugo... that stupid, stupid boy always had to be the best. He always had to be one step ahead, and this step was stained in his own blood.
For a moment, there was almost nothing Komi thought she could do. It was like the world had gone quiet -it hadn't and it truly never will for her, but for almost a moment, there seemed to be nothing.
Bakugo's body floated in the air for barely a nanosecond, a fraction of time where he hovered with his own blood surrounding him like a crowd. Her voice doesn't seem to work when she found she couldn't even attempt to open it, to call out his name and beg and hope to hear him in return. Her body felt stiff, frozen and taunt.
But then that fraction of a second passed and the horror of the true day befell on her once again, condemning her to a life which she knew nothing of what lain ahead.
As Bakugo fell, Komi knew little of how much harder she would fall too. Even as she plummeted down with him, all she heard were the words in her mind; Protect his heart, and she failed to hear what came next, blinded by her own ambition.
"Bakugo!" Her voice found it's way to work and her call felt like it echoed across the worn field that now became the battleground more than anything. "Shit!"
She wanted to scream worse words, but the part about protecting his heart filled and clouded her mind up more, and the need to know he was alive consumed her. He wasn't allowed to die, that Katsuki Bakugo. Not now, not before Komi. If she were to have it her way, they'd live a long, happy life together and then she'd go first, she wanted to be selfish in that way. In that was a good selfish, and she'd never feel sorry for it.
