Komi believed that New Years Eve celebrations would've been out of the question since moving into the dorms. However, thanks to escorts from Pro Heroes, most students were able to celebrate New Years back home with their families.
Of course, Komi and Shoto didn't need that much of an escort, considering they would be spending New Years with the Number One hero.

"Welcome home you guys!"

Shoto and Komi were barely inside the door before Fuyumi greeted them with a warm smile. The two were only just taking off their shoes in the doorway when they heard their sister somewhere deeper within the house.

As they both glanced at each other, they could hear the soft pitter-patter of footsteps running through the house, and before they knew it, they saw Fuyumi with a smile, coming around the corner as she wiped her wet hands on her apron.

"I was so sure you guys wouldn't be allowed home for the holidays, so this is such a pleasant surprise!" Fuyumi welcomed them with open arms. "Are you hungry?"

"No...Are you making something?" Shoto asked, walking towards the kitchen as a bevy of tantalizing aromas met his nose.

Fuyumi nodded her head as Komi peeked around the corner to look. "Yeah just the traditional osechi stuff -Oh shit! -I mean, the water's boiling!"

As Fuyumi rushed over to take the pot off the fire and take a sigh of relief that nothing was ruined, Komi basked in the food that was around her. Sweet black soybeans, candied sardines, candied chestnuts and sweet potatoes, a good few of sweet rolled omelets.
Komi's mouth practically started to drool while Shoto instinctively reached out his hand to some of the sweet black soybeans before-

"Ah!" Fuyumi tutted. "Not until you wash your hands, mister. That goes for you too Komi."

"Fine." And Shoto marched off to the bathrooms.

"Attitude, walk off..." Komi muttered to herself as she just went over to the kitchen sink to wash her hands. Think smarter, not harder.

"So are you guys hungry or not? I'm happy to make you something." Fuyumi asked again, given that Shoto had reached out to eat already.

"Shoto already ate, but I'm fine to eat what's here." Komi explained, rubbing her hands with soap.

This confused Fuyumi a little, prompting her to cross her eyebrows together as she hummed her confusion. "What do you mean?"

"Oh," Komi shook her hands in the sink as she reached for the towel. "Shoto at the hospital. He visited Rei before coming here."

"You didn't eat?"

The old lady smiled as she handed Shoto his visitation pass, but as far as Komi went, all the noirette got was a mean old glare.

"My apologies, but only direct family can visit."

"She's my sister, she's just adopted. It's fine." Shoto didn't see the problem with it, but Komi saw and felt it all.

"Do you have the paperwork? I can't let it in on a whim." The old lady gave a nasty side eye to Komi.

Although Komi had her right mind ready to rip this lady a new one, she chose not to. It was New Years, a time for new beginning, and she wasn't going to start it in the back of a police van...not again, anyways.

"It's fine. I'll wait out here."

"No," Komi shrugged, playing it off. "The hospital only allowed Shoto in. It's fine, I'd rather eat your cooking anyways."

Fuyumi glanced to Komi, but before she was able to ask about it, Shoto walked back into the room and instantly went to go eat some of the food set. Fuyumi noticed this and rolled her eyes affectionately at her brother.
