HII PRETTY PEOPLEEE!
I just wanted to let u all know that this chapter is also written from a flip phone, so the quality isn't top notch, but i hope you guys enjoy!
"Yes, Shoto, I'm fine now." Komi reassured her brother for the 20th time. He had made his own way up into her room and started to address the video. "There isn't anything for you to worry about."
"Komi, there is a video of you going around with torture on it." Shoto didn't exactly feel like his sister knew the whole grasp on the deal.
"I know, but that's none of your concern. What happened, happened. Best I can do now is just roll the ball with it until I can figure out my way around it." Komi probably could've explained that in a way where Shoto could understand what she was saying.
Shoto shook his head, latching on to the arms of his sister. "Komi, are you hearing yourself?" Komi bunched up her eyebrows as she eyed her brother. "You can't figure your way around this, something like this doesn't just pipe down. That video? That's your face, who you are until you change it."
Who the hell was this guy and where was Shoto? Why was he being so smart? Why was he using his brain? Komi backed up a little bit and Shoto dropped his hands from her arms. "This is never going to wash away, Kuyami."
Now he was using her real name...now he was being serious.
"This? This is not fine -you are not fine." Shoto lifted up his phone and shook it gently to emphasize his point before pointing to Komi herself. "Have you told the old man yet?"
"He knows." Komi stated for a matter of fact. "He knew the entire time...The league sent him a clip of that and threatened that at the next press conference that if I didn't stay up there for a designated amount of time, then all this would be released...he never told me about that."
Komi wasn't going to be placing blame here, but...
Shoto looked down for a moment and rubbed the side of his eyes, a much needed massage for his brain -preferably a machine gun.
"How is your tooth?"
A strange little question -but, a question Komi gets time to time. After all, owning fangs isn't exactly the norm. But Shoto had never once asked about Komi's fangs. So much so, that Komi sometimes wondered if he knew she had them. But he didn't teeth as in plural, he said tooth as in lone. Meaning the tooth that was pulled from her with no reason.
Komi's tongue touched the tooth, but she couldn't barely feel it. "It's fine...holding up, I guess."
Shoto nodded his head again. "And what about the exam? Are you ready to take that?"
The real answer would be no. Komi was weeks behind already -the summer camp was a massive fail, and only her fail for longer. Then with the whole blind thing, training never really happened. If Komi wasn't used to waking up early, then her entire routine would've been thrown off balance. She has had one day to prepare for the test...the test that people have been practicing for, for weeks, months and maybe even years.
"Yeah..." Komi answered as she looked the dual haired boy up and down again.
Something was wrong. He was being distance and Komi didn't know why. He was closed off, like there was something he wanted to say, but wasn't. For years, the two have never been closed off. There was secrets kept, of course, but almost everything was shared...now it was different. Every since Komi woke up on that hospital bed, blind, Shoto has been different.
He was never different.
Komi didn't know how to ask him about it. She didn't even know what was different about him, but she knew something was.
