Komi should've never agreed to singing for Jiro. Because now that tomorrow was the festival, there was nothing but jitters all throughout Komi. There was a sense of dread in her and a tiny voice in the back of her head saying that she'll forget the words or make a fool of herself in front of the entire school.
And it also didn't help that she couldn't sleep until 3 in the morning. The concert started at 10am, but the festival opened at 9am. So, until the clock strikes 9:59am, Komi had to somehow ease herself of the concert jitters she was feeling... and of course she woke up at 8:42am.
She jumped from her blanket and fell harshly on the floor, quickly rushing to the bathroom to splash cold water in her face and wake her up as she hastily got dressed, putting on her jeans from Fuyumi on backwards before she flipped them around the proper way, she ran out her bedroom door and rushed down to the common room, pretending that she had been up for the last hour.
There was the boxes of streamers and the the giant tub that was going to be used for melting Shoto's ice when the time comes. Komi grabbed a few boxes and stacked them on top of each other, following the last line of her peers out the dorm.
"Uh Komi?" Kirishima appeared next to the girl. "You're shirt...it's on backwards."
"Huh?" Komi quickly looked down and low and behold -her shirt was backwards. However, she was holding the 5 boxes stacked on top of each other so there wasn't much she could do. Pulling the boxes closer to her in embarrassment, Kirishima tried to say that it was fine and no one could notice.
A few seconds later, three more people came up to Komi to say the same thing. C'est la vie.
Every step Komi was taking to the gym, it felt like her feet were getting heavier. She was excited, yes, but the human body has trillions of nerves and somehow, every single one of them were on edge for Komi.
She knew that after the concert, she would be happy and glad that she did it, but right now she was feeling nothing but regret that she listened to Shoto and Jiro.
"Oi, Webs!" Bakugo called out to her as she was setting the stage up with the instruments. "Deku get back yet?"
"Uh, I haven't seen him." Komi shook her head, glancing to the side like Midoriya would just show up there. "No."
Bakugo scoffed, turning around to yell at someone behind the stage before trudging forward with the drum kit he was very protective over. Komi offered to wheel it out for him, but he was lenient on taking it out himself. Nothing but the faint sound of the two of the teenagers breathing could be heard. Granted, there was also the squeaks of the instruments as Komi put them on their stand.
Komi looked over to where Bakugo had set up his drum kit, and Komi's eyes followed upward, her mouth humming in thought.
"You should bring the drums forward." Komi said absent-mindly. "If your gonna use your quirk to start the song, that railing will be collateral."
Bakugo shoved his head up. "I know that!" He didn't.
After moving his drum kit forward, Komi then ran through where the rest of the instruments should go in order for the microphones not to mix in all that much with the other noise and so that her classmates wouldn't have their back of their clothing burnt off by Bakugo's explosion. As interesting as a sight as that would be, Komi would also be apart of that sight, so she made sure that everyone was in the best place they could be in.
The last thing Komi did, was set up the mic stand. More specifically, the stand she'd be using. The nerves in her mind were making her procrastinate for as long as possible. Even as she was fiddling with the mic stand and lowly humming the tune of the song so she wouldn't forget her lines, she did it all very slowly.
And even when the mic stand was in perfect position, Komi stilled messed around with him, adjusting it and then putting it right back where it was.
