The weather had finally cleared 6 hours after the class had been stranded in the airport, making their stay much longer expected. However, the ride was smooth enough and with everyone doing some kind of activity beforehand, everyone fell asleep reasonably quick.
The flight was quick, and Komi slept most of the way, so when the plane touched down, and it was showing signs of an early morning, with the sun barely over the horizon, Komi was happy that her jet-lag wouldn't hurt as much.
After collecting their bags, doing a once-over with all the students and making sure everything was in order, a bus came to collected 1A as they went on their 4 hour trip back home. It was roughly 4am when the plane touched down, and it was nearly 5am when the bus arrived and collected everyone.
Now, as they left Osaka city and made their way through the city, the class was reasonably quiet for the early hours of the morning.
Most just slept the on the ride, trying to get in the last of their beauty sleep, while others played some card games or tried reading a book. Komi was perfectly fine with sitting on the window side and watching life outside roll by.
Although, as they were making their way past the city Nagoya and through the district of Toyota, the E1A highway had a massive crash, so the bus had to circle back and go the only way it could, which was up the 475 and through Mt. Okusangai.
Which, that was were the bus was rolling through right now. Komi got to see the sight of mountains, and all the trees that laid underneath it all. With her eyes gazing out the window, Komi watched as the sun rose from all angles, and she watched as the population of people around started to sink away as the bus drove up the mountain.
As the bus looped around and around, the view of the mountain only got slightly more of a blur, given Komi was looking at the same things over and over.
Yawning, Komi lets out a small stretch and tries to angle herself in a way that she wouldn't get concussed if she close her eyes and accidently slammed her head against the bus window. Finally, finding the perfect spot, Komi had about 30 seconds of a half-sleep bliss.
30 seconds, need I remind you.
Where Komi closed her eyes and had no worries.
It was just the cozy feel of the bus, the lingering smell of a floral perfume used nearby, and the low hum of the engine.
Everything was in order, everything was in it's place. Nothing was going to go wrong.
After all, nothing was meant to go wrong.
Those thirty seconds are almost up now... That bliss isn't going to stay forever, you know...
8:12am, in the morning.
Komi had tried to get some rest after the long flight and a bumpy bus ride. She closed her eyes for 30 seconds, not thinking about the time she was letting tick by. She didn't think she had to savour it. She didn't think too much of it, after all, what could happen?
Ice, is what it felt like. The spiking feeling down her spine, tickling her skin and pricking up all the hairs on the back of her neck.
Komi was wide awake now, her eyes scanning everywhere for the source. Her breathing suddenly started to grow deep, like there was a hunger for the air around her.
With her wide eyes darting between each window, looking out each exit and watching the road ahead, Komi stood up on the bus, looking around for a better view. It was like all her sense were heightened at once, sending her in an overwhelmed stated that she hated with every fibre of her being.
"Stop the bus." Komi said, darting her eyes to the front. "Hey! Stop the bus!"
Komi reached for the emergency hammer on the bus wall, ripping it off and letting an alarm ring through the place -hopefully waking everyone up.
