Burnin' had been waiting in the lobby for 3 hours. Usually, if someone was tardy then that would be their own problem. But since this was Endeavour's kid and everything, she bent her own rules.
However, three whole hours felt a bit much. From what she heard, Kuyami Shizuki was the adopted daughter of Endeavour, being in the family since she was roughly 4 years old. And from multiple sources within the agency, Kuyami was praised on how well-behaved she was. She was polite and a very good listener.
However, nothing about making Burnin' wait for 3 hours felt polite or the consequence of being a good listener. It felt like the exact opposite. So, finally getting up, Burnin' started to walk around the agency to see what was happening. Endeavour was busy in his office doing some of his confidential work, so she wasn't going to interput unless she could not find Kuyami.
Making her way to the ground floor, Burnin' had a quick look around. Sometimes, guests confuse the ground floor as the lobby -Burnin' did too when she first took a job here. It was still confusing...and annoying. Endeavour was a great hero, but a terrible interior designer. Anyways, making her way through the ground floor, Burnin' looked all over and found nothing of Kuyami. And since Burnin' was smart, she went to the reception to ask about her.
"Hey, Mark."
Yes, Mark. Mark was the one white guy at Endeavour agency. She was from Australia and had the thickest accent when speaking English, but he also spoke really good Japanese.
"You seen boss-man's kid? Kuyami?" Burnin' asked as she rested her arms on the desk.
"Uh, the adopted one right? Black hair?" Mark asked as Burnin' nodded her head. "Yeah, she was here for a moment, but then some task force people came in for a meeting and I had to show them to a room. She was gone before I came back."
"So she was here?" Burnin' looked back, as if there would be some clue as to where she was.
"She could've mistaken you for someone else." Mark suggested, trying to find some reason as to why Komi wasn't where she was meant to be.
Burnin' turned back to Mark with a very unconvinced look. "Who else here has green flaming hair, Mark?"
Mark opened his mouth and then promptly closed it. He turned towards his computer and started typing away like a mad man. "Come around, I'll check the cameras."
Moving around the desk and then using Mark's chair to lean over and take a squint at what the camera's where showing.
"Here she is with Endeavour..." Mark mutters as he puts the camera on two times peed to just quickly run through it. "Walking everywhere but to the lobby...oh, there is she with...uh, those guys?"
Mark paused the recording. There were some heroes huddle in a circle who Komi had walked up to.
"Okay, well not a single one of them looks like their hero name should be Burnin' so she might just be asking for directions." Mark glanced back to Burnin', but the woman was not quite convinced.
"Play on." She jutted her head forward slightly.
Mark turned back to the screen and pressed the space bar, playing the recording back on normal speed.
The recording played as the circle of heroes basically started to pat each others back as they looked at Komi. For what was 100% a strange action, Burnin' watched on in complete focus. Despite never meeting Komi before and the girl not showing up, she was still responsible for Komi.
And as the circle of heroes started to guide Komi out of the reception room and towards the loading docks where a van was waiting for them. Burnin' and her eye twitched as Komi was borderline pushed into the van and it drove off. There she went. The one responsibility she had of the day, gone to God knows where.
