9:49am, a once bright morning.
It all happened far to fast. Dabi showed up, his blue fire separating the class with ease as it caught and spread around the forest. There wasn't even a fight to be had, it was just avoiding the fire.
And when Mr. Compress showed up, Komi had very little confidence that all her classmates were still okay. And that last sliver left completely when Toga arrived.
That was about 10 minutes ago, which was right before Komi ran away from the blue fire in hopes that her classmates did as well. She was going to go back to the bus, also hoping that maybe some of her peers would remember the brief details and follow there as well.
But not even Komi was safe, as she skidded to a harsh stop seconds before the wall of blue fire cut her off from her path.
Whipping her head up, she glared at Dabi as he stood side by side with Mr. Compress and Toga.
"Hi Komi!" Toga smiled, waving the hand that held her knife. "Did you miss me?! I missed you!"
The noirette was just going to move on from that.
"Where are my friends?" Komi looked right to Mr. Compress.
In response, he flicked his wrist at Komi and patted to his...was that a fanny pack? "They're safe."
In a fanny pack? Seriously?
Toga then started to sway forward. "I was really annoyed when you blew my cover... totally bummed me out...But Tomura changed his mind! He doesn't want you alive after all!"
Dabi seemed to...shift his feet at that? He moved uncomfortably, like he didn't like the idea? What was that about?
"So," Toga giggled, her sways becoming more hastily. "If you don't serve as a purpose to us anymore...then you won't dying for us, right?"
"Uh, wrong?" Komi corrected Toga as she ran forward and she ducked.
And like it was planned all along, Mr. Compress jumped forward, reaching his hand out towards Komi. Pulling a face from the way she suddenly moved, a sort of hiss-like noise escaped her mouth as Komi let herself fall backwards, but planted her feet firmly into ground. So, as Mr. Compress flew over her body, Komi was able to pull herself back up standing correctly.
Mr. Compress landed against a tree, his body slumping for a moment as he let the pain overcome him before he would start to get up. Komi then turned around, ready to face off whatever Dabi had to get her with... And she waited.
And waited.
But Dabi just looked at her, with a gaze hiding something behind his eyes. But he wasn't fighting her. He didn't do anything remotely of the sort. Not a single ember burnt in his hands, not a rise in temperature. Nothing. He wasn't going to fight her...why the hell was he not fighting her? Komi couldn't make sense of it.
But, she also didn't have much time as Toga was back with two different knives and Mr. Compress was away from the tree.
Komi eyed the fanny-pack on Mr. Compress' attire. If it really held some of her classmates, then it would be the least she could do to take them back. So, while also trying to avoid some A-list villains, Komi had to get up in their business to get the fanny pack. So, you know, it proved to be a wee bit hard.
Every reach she made for the fanny pack, Mr. Compress reached down to grab her -or Toga would reach out to stab her. OR! They both did so, at the same time!
And it wasn't like there was much space for Komi to go, as the fire had spread and was eating away at al the other trees and plants of the area. In times like these, the noirette wished she had some quirk to put a stop to the fire. How having a water quirk would literally be so helpful right now... And guess what- No, I'm kidding, that would be too cliche (im being so ffr).
