Frida awoke to the sound of light rain pattering against her bedroom window. It was one of those cozy, lazy Sundays when the world outside appeared blurry through the curtain. She rubbed the sleep from her eyes and sighed, contemplating the day ahead. That evening, Svenne had planned a small private concert in her cousin's large backyard garden at his country house for their close group of friends, and she was both excited and anxious to see them.

And Benny.

Svenne and Benny had been inseparable since they were children. They played together in a band, shared secrets and explored the little emotions of their youth. But now, as adults, their lives had taken them in different directions. Benny dated Olivia, a sweet girl who fit right in with their group, and that now was planning to move in with him... While Frida maintained her relationship with Svenne, who was kind-hearted but somehow unaware of the tension simmering just beneath the surface.

For years Frida had felt an inexplicable attraction towards Benny. He was taller than she remembered, his laugh was brilliant and his smile could light up the room. There were stolen glances, lingering touches, and private jokes that hinted at something deeper between them, yet both had always played it safe. The fear of losing their friendships was an enormous weight, which they both carried silently in their hearts.

Throughout the day, Frida had spent her time practicing singing and taking care of household chores, since her grandmother had recovered from a bad allergy, leaving her strengthless and more irritated than ever.

She was finishing applying the last touch of mascara to her eyes when she heard the doorbell ring. With a final glance in the mirror, she grabbed the small brown leather bag and slung it over her shoulder and turned off the camera light before sprinting down the stairs.

"Frida?".

Frida jumped down from the last two steps and did a 180° pirouette towards the kitchen, where her grandmother appeared as she dried her hands.

"Hey, I'm going".

"Is that guy out there?" her grandmother told her in a muffled voice with a stuffy nose.

Frida sighed and smiled, approaching her "My boyfriend. Yes. As I told you, there is a concert of his tonight".

"It belongs to him as much as his gang of scoundrels. Don't give him all this credit. Alone, he wouldn't do anything" his grandmother said bitingly.

Frida chuckled, "I'm glad to hear that your opinion of him is improving" and she kissed her cheek.

"Never" her grandmother replied, almost shocked "When do you think you'll be back home?".

"I don't know" Frida replied evasively, moving away towards the door and picking up the house keys on the table "Midnight?".

"Tell that long-haired guy that you have to be here at midnight sharp or there will be consequences".

Frida laughed, opening the door "Ok, captain! See you later!" and she closed the door, giving it a turn of the key. When she turned, she saw Svenne next to the car, with his back to her, as if he was looking for something on the side.

"Hey" she greeted, smiling at him.

He barely turned "Hey" and then looked back at the side.

Frida frowned and then she turned with him to look curiously at the car "What are we doing?".

Svenne sighed "Someone made a scratch on this side" he said annoyed.

Frida narrowed her eyes, trying to locate where the scratch was "Where?".

"Here!" he said as if it were obvious, pointing to a very small line on the back door. Invisible.

"Oh".
