Luo Qingci fainted; she had done all she could.

The intense pain in her chest surged repeatedly, tormenting her to the point where it felt like death was preferable.

She desperately tried to suppress it, her body instinctively channeling all her spiritual power to control the pain, which brought with it a biting cold. It was both painful and cold.

Suddenly, she yearned to return. Although that place only involved endless work and no one truly cared for her, it was still more bearable than this kind of suffering.

The little dragon cub looked at the person dressed in plain clothes. Her face was obscured by a mask, covered with a layer of frost, making it impossible to see her expression.

Yet, she curled up, clutching her chest, groaning in pain, mumbling something indistinctly.

The little dragon cub hesitated for a few moments, then opened its mouth, trying again to channel its spiritual power. After exhaling a few puffs of smoke, it finally released a breath of dragon flame, which flickered and burned on the ground.

It looked around the cave, where there were dry twigs and leaves. So the little dragon cub went around the cave, picking up branches and leaves to start a fire.

This was its unique wisdom and spirituality.

The flickering firelight did little to chase away the chill. The person continued to shiver.

The little dragon cub hovered in front of her for a while, then spiraled down to land on Luo Qingci.

The icy cold gradually receded inch by inch from around the little dragon cub.

Luo Qingci, in a daze, felt a warm object against her chest, and the bone-chilling cold slowly eased.

She sighed deeply in relief.

But as she was in a daze, the warm source on her chest started to become restless, as if it had grown claws, scratching and pinching. There were even tiny movements on her face, pulling and poking, which was quite bothersome.

"Where did this cat come from? Stop kneading on me." She muttered in a daze, then raised her hand to swat away the annoying thing.

The little dragon cub, curious, was trying to pry off the person's ugly mask.

The person's embrace was cool and soft, like a cloud, much more comfortable than being in the egg.

As it was enjoying itself, it was caught off guard when a slap landed squarely on its small head, causing the little dragon cub to emit a tiny whimper.

Before it could struggle or get angry, the cool, slender hand touched the soft and warm thing, pulling it into a tight embrace.

The little dragon cub struggled, but having just used its energy to start the fire and disperse the cold, it was too weak to free itself.

With a dejected look, it extended its head and let it droop on Luo Qingci, resigned to its fate.

Having just emerged from the egg, the little dragon cub was somewhat weak.

It had previously been unable to break the shell, and now, it didn't even know how it had gotten out. It was still confused.

The little dragon cub tried to remember the words its father had said in the egg, while pondering why it had been stolen by this person, though she didn't seem to be a bad person.

Also, the person's vague words left it somewhat bewildered. In this chaotic state of mind, it also fell into a deep sleep.

Luo Qingci did not know how long she had been unconscious. When she woke again, it was already dusk.
