The dragon cub hovered in mid-air, watching Luo Qingci.

It remained cautious. The memories from the dream made it wary of humans.

The person in white attire was covered in dust, with their face obscured by a mask, making it impossible to see clearly.

Yet, despite sitting there casually, their posture was still graceful, exuding a cold, moonlit elegance mixed with the gentleness of moonlight—an oddly harmonious contradiction.

Luo Qingci observed the dragon cub scrutinizing her, its gaze constantly roaming over her chest.

"You were stepping all over me before; why aren't you doing that now?" In her dazed state, she mistook it for a kitten kneading.

Upon hearing this, the dragon cub slowly approached. It still found Luo Qingci to be quite comforting.

Luo Qingci sat cross-legged, patting her lap. "Here."

The dragon cub glanced around and then looked up at her chest, which seemed softer.

Though it didn't speak, Luo Qingci understood what it meant.

She raised an eyebrow. The little cub's desire was quite endearing.

Ignoring the dragon cub's suggestion, she still patted her lap.

Reluctantly, the heroine settled on Luo Qingci's lap, her four tiny claws instinctively kneading, then lying down obediently with her head tilted back.

Luo Qingci remained composed on the surface but felt her heart melting inside.

She gently scratched the dragon cub's chin. "You're clearly a dragon, but why do you act like a kitten?"

The dragon cub, displeased, lifted a claw to swat Luo Qingci's hand away and gave a low growl, carrying a hint of threat.

"Hmm? Still angry? Don't want me to touch you?"

The dragon cub shook its little mane defiantly, looking serious and stern, clearly disapproving of Luo Qingci's behavior as if treating it like a pet.

Luo Qingci understood its meaning and smiled.

"Yes, very impressive. Not something a kitten can compare to. Now, let's continue with what we were talking about."

Upon hearing Luo Qingci, the dragon cub seemed to lose its energy, lowering its head.

Luo Qingci sighed lightly but remained serious. "I know it's hard to accept, but what's happened has already happened, and you must face it. Humans and dragons are now at odds. The Immortal Gate has issued an order: all dragons found are to be killed without mercy. So you mustn't run around or be discovered; it's dangerous, understand?"

Luo Qingci's voice was inherently cold, and with her long-acquired demeanor, her words flowed like icy water, carrying a chill.

However, her true nature, always chatty, softened the cold tone with warmth, making her strangely approachable despite the occasional oddity.

The dragon cub listened attentively, staring up at the person with its head lowered, its tail inadvertently curling around her wrist.

When Luo Qingci looked at her hand, the dragon cub nudged her with its tail.

The grip around her hand was gentle, showing affection and testing, with a comforting warmth.

Luo Qingci didn't move and continued, "Are you wondering why I'm not harming you?"

The dragon cub nodded.

Luo Qingci held the dragon cub up so it could see her face and said seriously, "I am different from them. Every life has meaning, and not recklessly taking others' lives is a basic principle of humanity. Even for animals without thoughts, killing should be for survival—humans shouldn't be worse than beasts.
