When they returned to the town, Luo Qingci discovered that not only had the Great Disciple of Xuan Yin Sect arrived, but other disciples from the immortal sects stationed there had also gathered.
Xu Mushan was severely injured, with someone currently tending to his wounds, while Xifeng and another demon dragon were nowhere to be seen.
Upon seeing Luo Qingci return with Ruan Li, everyone quickly surrounded them.
"Huai Zhu-jun, where is the demon dragon?"
Luo Qingci glanced at Xu Mushan and said calmly, "My disciple has already dealt with it."
Xu Mushan's eyes were filled with disbelief. Although he had successfully reached the Golden Core stage on his way down the mountain, he still struggled against the demon dragon. How could Ruan Li have killed the dragon?
"What about the dragon's body? Why isn't it here?" One disciple blurted out before realizing it was inappropriate, quickly lowering his head and closing his mouth.
Luo Qingci looked at Ruan Li, who was still clinging to her and refusing to move, but she remained still. She instead turned her gaze towards the disciple who had spoken, her voice cold and slow as she asked, "Are you afraid of dragons, hate them, or covet them?"
Her words, cold and deliberate, pierced like ice picks into their hearts, leaving everyone momentarily stunned into silence.
"Fear makes one timid, hatred blinds, and greed leads to self-destruction." Her gaze swept over everyone present, her tone calm yet imposing.
Even Ruan Li, leaning against her, stiffened at the mention of hatred.
Noticing this, Luo Qingci unconsciously used her left index finger to gently pat Ruan Li, a soothing gesture she didn't even realize she was making, and continued, "The dragon has turned to dust and returned to the heavens. It belongs to no one."
A murmur of unrest rippled through the crowd, but no one spoke up.
Suddenly, Luo Qingci's expression tightened as she looked up at the sky. A massive explosion echoed from the horizon, with a torrent of spiritual power rushing towards them with overwhelming force.
Luo Qingci waved her right hand, creating a circular spiritual barrier that covered the devastated town, protecting everyone inside.
Trees around them were instantly broken with cracking sounds, and two figures were blasted away by the spiritual power. They tumbled through the air and crashed heavily into the protective barrier before falling to the ground.
After blocking the attack, Luo Qingci stepped back and regained her footing, her brow furrowed. A thin line of blood appeared at the corner of her mouth but was quickly wiped away.
Everyone looked up at the distance with expressions of shock and confusion, while Ruan Li, who had been anxiously watching Luo Qingci, saw everything clearly. Her expression changed, and she hurriedly supported Luo Qingci. "Master, what's wrong?"
Luo Qingci shook her head, indicating she was fine, though her expression was clearly troubled.
Ruan Li's eyes were filled with concern. Although the spiritual power surge was intense, it shouldn't have caused someone of Master's strength to bleed. Suddenly, she noticed Luo Qingci gripping her hands tightly and realized something. "Master, is your old injury acting up?"
Luo Qingci whispered, "It's nothing."
Before Ruan Li could respond, others, panicked, exclaimed, "Huai Zhu-jun, it's the Second Elder of the Nan Hua Immortal Sect and Xifeng. What happened? What's going on?"
