Su Yu bit her lip, refusing to let go. It wasn't that she didn't trust Ruan Li, but she feared Ruan Li might lose control. Ruan Li was massive now, and their master was as fragile as porcelain, unable to endure any harm. What if she lost control and hurt her master?
Ruan Li's eyes were filled with red, staring intently at Luo Qingci. At that moment, intense disgust surged within her, so strong it made her want to retch. Yet, looking at the now tiny Luo Qingci, a shred of clarity remained in her mind, though it was laced with unbearable heartache.
Su Yu, with a face full of fear, held her ground against Ruan Li. To her surprise, she saw tears falling from Ruan Li's fierce eyes—large, hot, and bitter drops streaming down from her dragon eyes.
Despite her terrifying presence, Su Yu could still see the pain within those dreadful red eyes.
For a moment, Su Yu felt a pang of sorrow in her chest. Was Ruan Li heartbroken for their master?
As Su Yu stood there in confusion and uncertainty, Ruan Li lowered her head and said in a low, pained voice, "Give her back to me."
Su Yu was stunned, nervously swallowing. "What?"
Ruan Li's voice trembled with barely contained agony. She shook her head and repeated with deep restraint, "Give me back Chi Qing!"
Su Yu heard her clearly. Instinctively, she responded, "A Li, wake up! She's not Chi Qing, she's our mas—"
But she couldn't finish her sentence. Something flashed through her mind like lightning, and suddenly, the past doubts came together, everything becoming clear in an instant.
Su Yu froze, staring at Ruan Li in disbelief, murmuring, "Master is... Chi Qing? That's impossible."
Luo Qingci, who had already closed her eyes, coughed at the words "give me back Chi Qing." Forcing herself to open her eyes, her blurry vision slowly focused. She weakly reached out to the enormous creature before her. "A Li."
Hearing Luo Qingci's voice, Ruan Li let out a low cry, no longer hesitating. She pushed Su Yu aside.
Su Yu had no strength to resist and could only watch as Ruan Li's huge head lowered, her nose gently nudging Luo Qingci, cautiously sniffing and prodding her.
Luo Qingci's eyes filled with red as she tried to reach out and touch her. However, Ruan Li abruptly pulled away and then took Luo Qingci's belt in her mouth.
Su Yu cried out, "Master is severely injured; she can't take any more!"
Ruan Li glanced at her and stretched out a claw, gently cradling Luo Qingci in her paw. Despite her massive size, Luo Qingci lay perfectly in her palm, protected on all sides.
The protective formation around the mountain was continuously under attack. Su Yu stood alone in the center, looking at the soaring Ruan Li with an indescribable sadness.
What situation were Master and A Li in now? Their master had exposed the truth of the dragon-slaying conspiracy to awaken the conscience of those in the immortal sects. However, many of the older generation had already rotted through, and now they were panicking, fearful of both the dragon clan's invasion and Ruan Li's descent into madness.
Why had their master acted so urgently? Was it because their grandmaster had returned, leaving Ruan Li's true identity exposed, with no way to retreat?
Ruan Li leaped into the sky, looking down at the trembling disciples of the immortal sect. Luo Qingci, still conscious thanks to the system, spoke with difficulty, "Tianjizi is dead. Kill me, and you can return to the dragon clan."
