Ruan Li's words were meant to be comforting, but they left Luo Qingci somewhat speechless. Reflecting on the suffering she had endured, it was truly countless, enough to nurture many Ruan Li.
She patted Ruan Li's little head, "I'm fine. Besides, look at your tiny body—how much blood can you really take? Are you feeling better? You can have a little more if you need it."
Ruan Li shook her head, "That's enough. I'm much more comfortable now. Even a little bit of blood should be avoided if possible."
Luo Qingci couldn't help but laugh. She hadn't seen Ruan Li like this in a long time. She crossed her legs and, smiling, patted her lap, "Do you want to come over?"
Ruan Li suddenly remembered how she used to cling to Luo Qingci when she was younger. Her eyes were a bit shy, but she still crawled onto Luo Qingci's lap and nestled into her embrace, curling up.
Thinking about Luo Qingci's implicit confession made her so excited that she couldn't help but keep her gaze fixed on her. She raised her head to rest on Luo Qingci's stomach, clutching at her belt with her front paws, and continued to stare.
Seeing the little dragon from her memories, Luo Qingci's heart almost melted. How could something be so cute and well-behaved?
Although Ruan Li was still the same size as before, there were noticeable differences. Her scales, originally a deep red with gold, now had more prominent gold, and she no longer looked like a red dragon at first glance.
Her scales were now shinier and looked even more vibrant. Her horns, though still small in this form, were much more complete and fully developed.
When she first saw her, Luo Qingci thought, how could a dragon look so delicate and charming? Now, seeing Ruan Li's true form, her features were both beautiful and majestic. Who would have thought that an unattractive egg could hatch into such a splendid and imposing little dragon?
What was once merely admiration and affection for her cuteness had now become an intense and multiplied appreciation, like honey coating everything, making it sweet and sticky.
Her gaze was so soft, like it was laced with sugar, that Ruan Li found it hard to bear. Her body began to heat up again, and fearing she couldn't control herself, she turned her head and buried it against Luo Qingci's waist, avoiding her gaze.
Luo Qingci chuckled and was about to tease her but noticed Ruan Li's paw hooked around her belt. Her expression changed, and she reached out to hold her little paw, examining it closely, her surprise mingled with delight, "Ah Li, your fifth claw has grown!"
Ruan Li was stunned. After waking up, she had been unable to control her emotions and hadn't paid attention to herself. Hearing Luo Qingci's words, she raised her front paw and saw that she now had five claws instead of four.
Among the dragon tribes, except for the rare black dragons with five claws, all others, including red, blue, white, and black dragons, typically have only four claws. Ruan Li's father, the Dragon King Xidan, was a five-clawed black dragon. In a millennium, there had only been a few five-clawed dragons, including Xidan.
Now, regardless of whether the dragon tribe remembered what a golden dragon looked like, they would recognize her rank because red dragons could never have five claws.
Ruan Li's eyes sparkled with joy. This meant that the defect within her had been corrected. According to the dark thoughts that had told her, she would soon become powerful enough to protect Luo Qingci.
But then she felt something was wrong. Recalling Luo Qingci's words about the fifth claw, she asked, "Master, did you know I would grow a fifth claw?"
Luo Qingci was momentarily caught off guard. She hadn't expected Ruan Li to be so perceptive. She couldn't tell the whole truth and could only give a vague response, "Hmm? Your father had five claws, so with your talent, you naturally wouldn't be any worse."
