Everything happened too suddenly. Luo Qingci had no time to prepare, but now that she was here, there was no retreat. All she could do was remain calm.
So, she simply nodded slightly, glanced back at Gu Zhichao and Jiang Yuebai, and then stepped inside.
Jiang Yuebai couldn't help but take a step forward, wanting to speak but hesitating. It wasn't until Luo Qingci's figure disappeared that Jiang Yuebai finally spoke up, "Senior Brother, why does Master want to see Master Huai Zhu alone, and why does he want to see her first?"
Gu Zhichao remained silent, just shaking his head. His expression was also serious, which made Jiang Yuebai feel even more uneasy. Master had always been stern and rarely smiled. Although he seldom punished them arbitrarily, Master Huai Zhu was an exception.
To others in the Tianyan Sect, it was because Master had high expectations for Huai Zhu and was deeply concerned, but now, Jiang Yuebai wasn't sure if it was really out of love.
The seclusion place of Tianjizi was a cave on the back mountain of Tianyan Sect's main peak. It was in stark contrast to the coldness of the Youtan; this place was far hotter than anywhere else in the sect. Ordinary disciples would sweat profusely and find it unbearably hot within a short time.
Although Luo Qingci had cold poison in her body, she had grown accustomed to a low body temperature over the years. Even though she could withstand the heat with her spiritual power, it was still uncomfortable.
As she approached, the temperature grew even higher, and beads of sweat appeared on her forehead. It was even hotter here than during Tianjizi's previous seclusion.
The stone door loomed before her. Behind it was Tianjizi, whom Luo Qingci had been unwilling to see. Previously, it was because the stress from this body's reaction to Tianjizi made her uncomfortable, but as she uncovered the original plot of the previous owner, her disdain for him grew.
Luo Qingci couldn't understand Tianjizi's mindset. She acknowledged that jealousy and possessiveness existed in love, but it shouldn't be taken to extremes. Moreover, even if it was a conflict between three people from that generation, it shouldn't involve Ruan Li, and it shouldn't be directed at the original Luo Qingci in such a manner.
She stood quietly before the stone door, her gaze seeming to pierce through the heavy stone, looking at Tianjizi inside. Before she could make a move, the stone door rumbled open, and a hoarse, ancient voice came from within, "If you've arrived, come in."
Luo Qingci took a deep breath, stepping forward with a demeanor that had completely transformed into the original Luo Qingci from her memories—her expression indifferent and her aura cold.
After not seeing Tianjizi for decades, he looked much the same as the old man she had seen upon waking. His white hair hadn't regained its vitality despite his years of seclusion. The wrinkles on his face, under the dim light, made him seem on the verge of decay.
But Luo Qingci knew this was just an appearance. Tianjizi sat upright, and his eyes, though aged, still held a sharp, penetrating gaze, like a hawk searching for prey in the dark. The dim light couldn't dull the intensity in his eyes.
He stared at Luo Qingci with drooping eyelids and sunken eyes, but she still felt like a thorn in her side. In her heart, she silently recited the Quiet Heart Formula, her lack of emotional ties making her adept at maintaining a composed exterior after years of facing Tianjizi.
Tianjizi observed her and suddenly raised his hand, unleashing a surge of spiritual energy. Luo Qingci stood still, accepting the attack without evasion.
