"Did it start this quickly? Or is this what Su Yu was facing all along?"

Over the years, she had spent most of her time cultivating to perfectly play the role of Luo Qingci. Additionally, filled with animosity toward this world, she was unwilling to pay much attention to those around her, whom she regarded as NPCs. Aside from getting to know Cheng Su and others to pave the way for the future, she hadn't cared much about anyone else.

Since her cultivation stagnated, she became a marginal figure within the sect. Though she held the title of Enforcement Elder, she rarely participated in anything unless it was a major event.

As an elder of this generation in the Tianyan Sect, she should have been responsible for teaching disciples spells. However, because of her indifferent attitude and disregard for worldly matters, she directly refused.

After Su Yu became her disciple, she didn't even personally check on Su Yu's morning lessons, only offering guidance at Hanlu Courtyard.

Su Yu was calm, sensible, and well-versed in handling matters, so she barely had to worry about her. In other respects, she hadn't really intervened much.

But the scene before her made Luo Qingci realize that her trust in Su Yu was indeed another form of neglect.

Though Luo Qingci had some suspicions, she didn't jump to conclusions based on the seating arrangement and continued to observe Ruan Li and Su Yu.

At that moment, Ruan Li was kneeling on a cushion, talking to Su Yu, likely discussing the content of the elders' morning lessons.

As the two conversed, two white-clad inner disciples walked past Ruan Li. One of them suddenly bumped into Ruan Li's shoulder.

Caught off guard, Ruan Li stumbled, supporting herself with her right hand on the ground.

Her hand was still wrapped in bandages, and when she touched the ground, Luo Qingci clearly saw her fingers instinctively curl up in pain, but she forced herself to endure it.

She hit the wound.

This little one didn't use the medicine I gave her.

Su Yu noticed this as well and quickly helped Ruan Li up. She frowned slightly, turning to look at the two male disciples—it was Lin Mu and Di Shen. These two were inner disciples of the Li and Kun Courtyards, respectively, now in the middle stage of foundation building and quite capable.

Seeing Su Yu looking at them, the two finally stopped in their tracks. Lin Mu, the one who had bumped into Ruan Li, glanced at her with a fake smile and said, "Oh, I'm so sorry. The space is narrow, and I didn't notice, accidentally bumping into this junior sister from the Ze Courtyard. My apologies. Senior Sister Su, I hope you won't mind."

Though he said he was sorry, his tone lacked any sincerity, and his apology was directed at Su Yu, completely ignoring Ruan Li.

"Hey, isn't she the one from yesterday's test, with a useless spiritual root and a top-grade fire spiritual root? I heard she climbed the 923rd step of the Heavenly Staircase. How come she's so weak that a light bump from a senior brother makes her kneel?" Di Shen chimed in mockingly.

Su Yu initially frowned instinctively when she saw Ruan Li being bumped, but upon hearing their sarcastic comments, her gaze turned icy. "If you bump into someone, just apologize. What's with all the talking? You say I shouldn't mind, but considering it's you two, I'm not surprised. And since you bumped into my junior sister, don't you think you owe her an apology?"

Lin Mu remained indifferent. "Oh, didn't I apologize just now? Or did Junior Sister Ruan not hear clearly? By the way, today is your first day of cultivation, yet I don't see Master Huaizhu around. I've noticed other elders and even my master have come by. Could it be that a genius who climbed over 900 steps isn't worth her attention, or is it because your spiritual root is so useless that she doesn't care anymore?"
