When Luo Qingci said this, Ruan Li was momentarily stunned, feeling a sudden pang of guilt. Her gaze flickered slightly.
Luo Qingci noticed her small movement clearly and frowned, "So many innocent lives were lost, no wonder there's a lot of resentment."
Ruan Li looked towards Su Yu, her mood sinking, "We arrived too late. If we hadn't rested for a night, perhaps they wouldn't have all died unjustly. They were so innocent, living here peacefully, only to end up slaughtered."
Luo Qingci was slightly taken aback and looked down at the pain that couldn't be hidden in Ruan Li's eyes. She suddenly understood what was troubling her.
"It's not your fault. If you had known it would be like this, you would have come earlier and done everything you could to save them," Luo Qingci said as she gently helped Ruan Li into the house, settling her onto a chair. Looking into Ruan Li's eyes, she continued softly, "Many things in this world are beyond human control. What we can do is to do our best in the present moment. You avenge them, and your senior sister will help them transcend. This is the best we can do right now."
Ruan Li stared at her, with Luo Qingci half-squatting in front of her, looking up. The mask she wore covered most of her face, but the exposed lips and chin made it clear that her face was far from unattractive.
The mask was quite beautiful. With her demeanor and elegance, the mask added a mysterious and charming aura, making her look almost celestial.
It was a significant improvement over the ugly, detested doll mask she had worn before.
Her eyes were bright and gentle, filled with comfort that made one feel warm just by looking at her. Ruan Li realized this was Chi Qing and couldn't resist the attraction.
"Chi Qing's favorability +10."
Luo Qingci almost laughed out loud when she saw the favorability increase. This little dragon cub must miss her a lot, even though the deductions were severe, it had already been restored.
She tried to keep a straight face and pretended to be indifferent as she stood up, but as soon as she was halfway up, the system notification came again, "Ding, Chi Qing's favorability -10."
Luo Qingci's mouth twitched, and the system mocked her mercilessly, "Slapped your face, didn't it?"
Luo Qingci could only silently remind herself, "This is my little dragon cub, my own."
She didn't dwell on it further and focused on treating the wound. She stood up, held Ruan Li's left hand, and carefully examined her injury, frowning once more.
"We need to clean the wound first," she said, looking at Ruan Li.
Seeing Ruan Li's confused look, she hesitated and then spoke, "Clothes?"
Ruan Li was startled, a flush rising to her face. The wound was on her left shoulder, with five claw marks having pierced through her clothes. To clean the wound, the clothes would need to be removed. Regardless of who the person was, Ruan Li couldn't stay composed.
The wound on Ruan Li was already showing signs of blackening, with demonic energy from the owl's claws seeping into the wound. If not dealt with promptly, it could cause further harm.
"You and I are both women, and this is an emergency. In the martial world, such formalities are not necessary. Your wound cannot be delayed," Luo Qingci said, feeling a bit awkward herself but still trying to reassure Ruan Li.
She comforted herself, reminding that this was her disciple, her own little dragon cub, and it was reasonable to expose a shoulder for treating a wound.
