Luo Qingci turned to look at Gu Zhaozhao, her expression cold and indifferent. "Senior Brother, why are you so nervous? Could the truth really be more terrifying than the extermination of a species and the destruction of a clan? Everything that has led to today's events was caused by the Immortal Sect itself. If it hadn't relentlessly hunted the dragons to extinction, we wouldn't be in this situation. A hundred years ago, the dragon clan lived peacefully in the Dragon Palace, ruling over the seas without ever stepping foot into the mortal realm. Now, the dragons have been forced to side with the demonic clan, seeking revenge against the Immortal Sect. If you still believe you can wage a final battle against the dragons and somehow turn the tides to trample them underfoot again, you are walking a path to destruction. You will all be remembered as eternal sinners."
Luo Qingci's every word was sharp and resounding, stirring up murmurs among the crowd.
"Is Immortal Lord Huaizhu simply fearmongering? The demonic realm's seal has not yet been broken, and there's no proof of collusion between the dragons and demons. Besides, we managed to kill Dragon King Xidan back then, and though the Dragon God Tree can't last forever, it still poses a threat to the dragon clan. Why can't we join forces now to kill Mo Yan?" The speaker was Elder Heguang from the Chongxu Sect.
Luo Qingci gazed at him solemnly. "Kill Mo Yan? Elder Heguang, have you forgotten how many lives were lost in Chongxu Sect during that battle with the dragon clan?"
Elder Heguang's face darkened. "Luo Qingci, I call you Immortal Lord Huaizhu out of respect for your master, but you, a mere child, should mind your manners!"
Luo Qingci chuckled coldly. "Then I must apologize for my rudeness."
"Luo Qingci, you were a model of dragon-slaying for the Immortal Sect, and the Dragon King died at your and your master's hands. How can you now stand on the side of the dragon clan? Don't forget, it was not us who first broke faith. The souls of those who died in Tianyin Pavilion have yet to find peace!" Yunhua Sanren immediately followed with an accusation.
"Indeed, the excuse for attacking the Dragon Palace was the dragons' supposed invasion of the Immortal Sect and massacre of the innocent. But the Dragon King never admitted to that crime. He cooperated with the investigation, and before a conclusion could be reached, he was ambushed during a council meeting. The Dragon Palace was destroyed, and the blame was silently placed on the dragon clan. Has no one ever questioned this?"
"What exactly are you trying to say, Immortal Lord Huaizhu?" Wen Xiange, who had remained stern but confused, asked, glancing at her disciples standing behind her.
The Fan Yin Pavilion, the most low-key sect of the Immortal Gate, rarely allowed its disciples to descend from the mountain unless it was a major event. Their sect focused solely on quiet cultivation and had little interest in worldly affairs.
Luo Qingci bore no ill will toward her and saw no need to argue with those who remained obstinate. Without further words, she raised her hand and cast out bubbles filled with past memories from the Dream Demon.
"I don't wish to say much more. There are simply some truths you all should know. For instance, how we were able to kill Dragon King Xidan, and why we had to slay the dragons."
Gu Zhaozhao began to sense something was wrong, and Qin Jian, who had already learned the truth, turned pale. Only Jiang Yuebai remained oblivious.
Unable to sit still any longer, Gu Zhaozhao suddenly stood up and unleashed a surge of spiritual power aimed directly at the Dream Demon bubbles, shouting, "Huaizhu, enough! Don't go mad!"
Luo Qingci had anticipated Gu Zhaozhao's move. With a swift motion, she blocked his spiritual power with her own, and with a casual flick of her wrist, Gu Zhaozhao's attack dissipated without a trace.
