Luo Qingci had not visited Qingxuan Pavilion often, but she knew which rooms were assigned to Su Yu and Ruan Li.

She stood in the center of the courtyard and used her spiritual energy to write the word "sleep" in mid-air. The ice-blue characters wavered and, guided by Luo Qingci's finger, floated into the two bedrooms, one to the left and one to the right.

This spell was something Luo Qingci had developed during countless sleepless nights after losing the little dragon cub. It was highly effective for her.

"This is something you came up with, so it fits you perfectly," Luo Qingci muttered. Spiritual energy seeped through the door crack and lightly tapped the latch, causing a soft jingling sound. Startled, Luo Qingci's spiritual energy flickered, causing the bell to jingle twice more.

Realizing something was amiss, Luo Qingci quickly directed her spiritual energy to cover the bell.

Wiping the cold sweat from her forehead, Luo Qingci opened the door and slipped into Ruan Li's room.

Looking at the small bell hanging from the latch, Luo Qingci was both speechless and amused. The little cub had used this trick to play hide and seek with her. She then slapped her forehead, realizing it was a trick she had taught when the cub was younger.

She quickly checked the floor, relieved to find no dust or formations.

Fortunately, she had subdued the cub beforehand; otherwise, this would have been a bigger mess. Patting her chest, she straightened her clothes and moved inside.

It was late at night, but the glass lanterns in Ruan Li's room were still lit.

Upon entering, Luo Qingci saw the little dragon cub sitting cross-legged on the bed, her eyes tightly shut, indicating she had been forced into a deep sleep.

Luo Qingci sighed, "You're really not being obedient. I told you not to use spiritual energy, but you're still trying to meditate. You need to understand that you're a mortal now, you need to eat and sleep. At sixteen, you're still growing. Aren't you worried about not growing taller... well, whether you grow or not."

Luo Qingci examined the sleeping cub closely. Although they had met for a few days, she had not observed her up close.

Thinking about growth, Luo Qingci wondered how much the cub had grown over the past sixteen years. Did she become as big as her dragon father, turning into a large dragon?

Hmm, the books didn't specify the age of maturity for dragons. At sixteen, she was probably still in her juvenile phase.

The sleeping little dragon cub had her long, dense eyelashes resting like a fan. Having relaxed completely, her brows were not furrowed, and her face was free of the pretentious expressions, looking peaceful and delicate like a doll.

Unable to resist, Luo Qingci reached out and pinched her cheek. It was soft and slightly chubby, just like baby fat.

Her expression softened into a rare, genuine smile, one that her usually impassive face couldn't hide.

The system closed its eyes, not wanting to witness this scene.

The character setting had completely collapsed.

"Finally, I managed to see you. You used to be so easy to manage. Now you've grown so much in sixteen years. I wonder how you've been during these years, if you've been bullied at home," Luo Qingci's carefully maintained persona was completely abandoned as her long-suppressed maternal instincts surfaced, speaking in a manner the little dragon cub couldn't possibly respond to.
