Luo Qingci's face turned pale as she realized, "You also find this familiar?"
Luo Qingci was being tossed around violently, her head spinning, but her thoughts were clear. She quickly asked the system, "This heart demon is so powerful. If there are so few people in the Tianyan Sect who can wield such a heart demon, could it be Tianjizi?"
The system shook its head. "I'm not sure, but it's possible. How are you? Is the injury serious?"
Luo Qingci didn't answer. It wasn't fatal, but it was uncomfortable. She needed to stabilize the unstable seal on Ruan Li and deal with the heart demon. Another fierce battle awaited her.
"So, Ruan Li suddenly lost her mind because the heart demon interfered?"
There was no other reason.
Before the system could respond, Luo Qingci realized they were reaching the ground. The heart demon suddenly withdrew, and she and Ruan Li were violently thrown to the ground.
If they hit the ground like this, their bones would likely be shattered. Luo Qingci held Ruan Li tightly, drew her spirit sword, and as they fell, she used the sword to create a swirling shield of sword light, creating a large pit in the ground, which greatly reduced the impact.
As the sword's tip hit the ground, the sword body bent and then straightened. Luo Qingci used the force to propel herself and Ruan Li upwards, taking two steps back. Her right hand held the sword tightly, eyes fixed on the shadow that had solidified into a human form.
The shadow was clad in a black robe, with its features and body shrouded in black mist, making it impossible to see clearly. Only a pair of crimson eyes emerged from the mist, staring at Luo Qingci.
"You've taken on disciples." The hoarse and gloomy voice seemed to come from a malevolent ghost from the depths of hell, with a rough, grating sound like nails scraping against a wall, making it very unpleasant.
This statement was directed at Luo Qingci, making her realize that the entity before her was an old acquaintance.
"Who are you?" Luo Qingci asked, maintaining her composure as she drew the broken sword from her abdomen and used spirit power to seal the wound.
The shadow looked at the broken sword in her hand and laughed coldly. "Only at the Spirit Separation stage, and you're already so ruined? It shouldn't be like this. Wasn't he most optimistic about you? How could someone with such skill not even be able to properly maintain a sword? You've risked yourself for such a disciple, and now you've learned nothing but his past foolishness."
His words were full of mockery, especially disdainful when talking about Luo Qingci, but his gaze involuntarily fell on Ruan Li.
"The 'he' you speak of, is it my master?" Luo Qingci's expression was cold as she released Ruan Li, allowing her to fall to the ground.
The shadow was a bit surprised. It looked at Ruan Li, swayed a bit, then fixed its gaze on Luo Qingci. "You know me?"
"Of course. You are his disgrace, something he desperately wanted to get rid of. If the timing had been right, he would have likely found a way to destroy you, rather than destroy his own life's sword to seal you in this cursed place." Luo Qingci brushed her thumb across the sword handle, then threw the broken sword to the ground. Her expression was calm and indifferent, as if recognizing it was no surprise to her, speaking pointedly and harshly.
When the system informed her this was a heart demon, Luo Qingci had already guessed as much, and the heart demon's words only confirmed it further.
She had confirmed it when she touched the broken sword. The inscriptions on the sword hilt were familiar to her; it was Tianjizi's life sword.
