During the night, the web slinger was clung onto a building, thinking about where his enemy might be. Surely he'd pop out by now to go on the attack. It wasn't like he wasn't obvious enough to randomly find! He was pretty huge after all! But then again..... something hit him. A detail that could be considered cliche. What if.....what if he was somewhere underground in the sewers somewhere! Like those stories of alligators or crocodiles in sewers. It seemed ridiculous, but still, far more likely than finding the mighty beast at the beach. So with this thought, the superhero went towards a manhole cover, lifted it off and went in the sewer, letting the metal covering down once he was inside. "It's a long shot, and such a gamble, but here goes....." He muttered to himself as he slowly descended down deeper into the sewers. Immediately, he could smell the nasty stench that was expected of a sewer, though in his own mind, it was several times worse than anticipated.
The retired hero watched from his laptop, busy studying his environment. "So you chose to look for him in the sewers. You sure you'll find him in there?" He asked, not too sure on his protege's thoughts on the matter.
The rookie superhero shrugged his shoulders while crawling on the ceiling of the sewers. "Not really, but unless you hear of something that's in Manhattan, or Time Square or something, this is the best chance I've got." He responded. "It's a cliche to use alligators or crocodiles in the sewers bit, but that's all I've got since they're both reptiles....." He explained while searching around the sewers. As he did, he'd see a lot of tunnels that go in so many different directions. This gave the hero an idea he'd have to try for later.
As he continued to crawl through the large New York sewers, the web slinger heard a loud roar echo through the long hallways, the sounds practically vibrating on the walls and ceiling he was crawling on. "He's close. He's got to be." He muttered while crawling through the sewers. It didn't take him very long to notice his spider sense starting to tingle as Reptile King was getting dangerously closer to him. "Here I thought the whole alligator in the sewers bit was just a cliche. Turns out it's more fact than myth after all." He quipped while staying hidden in the sewers.
The large reptilian beast could hear the superhero's voice echoing through the massive tunnels. However, given the position of the noise, and everything echoing around him, he couldn't make out exactly where the voice was coming from. "YOU! YOU FOUND ME?!" He shouted in anger and disbelief. This wasn't part of his plan! He was going to use the sewers to sneak on the wall crawler, not the other way around.
"Indeed I did. Now I'm hoping I get a massive cash prize." Will continued to quip, using the sounds to his advantage. "I also wouldn't bother trying to get my scent in here. With the many smells in here you'll be lucky to have gotten my most recent scent. You want me? You'll just have to use your gut." He continued on, soon noticing the mighty beast off to try and find him.
In his enraged state, Richard began ripping through several pipes with his claws and strength. He stopped caring that he could lose control of himself, he stopped caring that he could turn more into a monster, he just wanted to kill the web head once and for all. "WHY CAN'T YOU JUST STAY OUT OF OUR WAY?! LEAVE THIS CITY ALONE!" He shouted, getting angrier by the second.
"Can't have you going out in public like this. If the city knew we had an alligator problem, they'd move to Jersey." Will joked, purposely trying to get his foe more and more pissed off on purpose. "Don't fret. You're almost there. Just down this pipe."
Upon hearing the annoying arachnid themed superhero's constant jokes, and guiding his way through the sewers, he finally reached an open area where he was all alone. "WHO ARE YOU?!"
"You sure you want to know?" The curly haired boy asked. All he heard was a low growl, which was enough of a hint to clue in he was saying yes. So, while still in costume, Will walked towards his enemy, a serious expression under his mask. "You murdered my father....."
