Jake is sitting in math class when a new student is introduced into the new school/class. He immediately wanted to become his friend but he also just didn't really know how to make friends.

Unfortunately for Jake, he was the loner type. And nobody really 'understood' him. So he doubts himself that this new student would even want to even talk to him.

As the teacher introduced the new student to the class, Jake couldn't help but feel a pang of anxiety. He had always struggled to make friends, and the thought of approaching someone new filled him with fear.

The new student, Carrington, was introduced with a smile on his face. He seemed friendly and approachable, and he was immediately welcomed by the other students in the class.

Jake, on the other hand, sat quietly in the back of the classroom, watching as everyone greeted Carrington with enthusiasm. He couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy mixed with his usual anxiety.

At this point the teacher informed Carrington to sit by the empty seat in the class. Jake slowly looked around and then he internally facepalmed. The seat is next to him. Right next to him!

"Great.." He muttered as he is doodling in his mathbook, trying to avoid all the eyes staring at him by other students.

Carrington looked around the classroom, noticing the empty seat next to Jake. He hesitated for a moment, sensing the other boy's discomfort.

But then he shrugged it off and walked over to the seat, taking a seat next to Jake with a friendly smile."Hey," he said, breaking the awkward silence between them. "I'm Carrington."

Jake didn't respond for a moment. Before he looked up and waved. But his waving motion slowly stopped, his heart suddenly felt all warm and fuzzy. He felt nauseated. Was he gonna vomit? No, he didn't feel sick. He was feeling a certain feeling but he couldn't process it.

Carrington noticed the sudden change in Jake's demeanor. He looked down at him, noticing the nauseous look on his face.
"You okay, dude?" he asked, his voice filled with concern.

Jake nodded. "uh-huh." He muttered. Before be doodled in his mathbook again. Not even bothered to actually do the assignment.

Carrington watched as Jake continued to doodle in his mathbook, clearly not interested in the assignment. He chuckled softly, amused by the other boy's nonchalance.

"You're not even paying attention," he teased, leaning over to get a better look at Jake's doodles.

"Because i don't understand it. So why would i pay attention?" Jake kept his voice soft. And because they are seated in the back of the room, the teacher couldn't really hear them and continued the math lecture.

Carrington raised an eyebrow, impressed by Jake's honesty."Fair point," he said, leaning back in his chair. "I can't say I blame you. Math can be a real pain in the ass."

"I agree, i hate math. I'm just forced to be here." Jake looked over. "Oh, um.. forgot to say my name. I'm Jake."

Carrington chuckled, amused by Jake's introduction."Nice to meet you, Jake," he said with a smile. "I take it you're not exactly a fan of school, huh?"
