The couple are laying in togetherness. The weighted blanket over them and provides a comfortable cozy pressure.

A rain was occuring outside the room. It was harshly hitting raindrops against the window panes. The moonlight reflects inside the room and on the men's faces.

The rain pounded against the windows, the sound a steady rhythm that filled the room. The weighted blanket provided a soothing pressure, cocooning the couple in warmth and comfort.

Carrington's eyes fluttered open as he slowly woke up, his gaze drifting to the moonlit window.

He looked down at Jake, who was still asleep in his arms. A soft smile tugged at the corners of his lips as he took in the peaceful expression on his face. He gently brushed a strand of hair out of Jake's eyes, his touch feather-light.

Jake stirred from his sleep. His brown eyes slowly opening. "Mmf.." he grunted as he lifted a hand and rubbed an eye. "What time is it..? It's still dark."

Carrington chuckled softly at Jake's groggy response, his hand still gently carding through his hair.

"It's late Jake," he murmured, glancing at the clock on the bedside table. "Or early, depending on how you look at it. Just past midnight."

"Its night" Jake giggled. His brown eyes looking up at Carrington. "Why are you awake?"

Carrington rolled his eyes playfully at Jake's smartass response, his hand moving down to lightly pinch his cheek.

"I could ask you the same thing, Jake" he retorted, a smirk tugging at his lips. "You were the one who woke up first."

"Bullshit, you woke me up you liar" Jake called out with a smile. "Now seriously why are you awake?"

Carrington feigned offense at Jake's accusation, dramatically placing a hand over his heart."Me? A liar? I'm wounded," he said with mock hurt. "But seriously, I couldn't sleep. I think the rain is keeping me awake."

"Why?" Jake asked as he laid his head onto Carrington's chest. Looking at the window. Watching the raindrops.

Carrington hummed softly as he felt Jake's head rest against his chest. He absentmindedly ran his fingers through Jake's hair again, his eyes following the path of the raindrops as they streamed down the window.

"I don't know Jake," he admitted. "I guess I'm just not used to sleeping with the sound of rain. It's kinda soothing, but it also makes it harder to fall asleep."

"I like the sound" Jake replied. "Its better than loud sudden startling sounds."

Carrington nodded in agreement, his hand still moving gently through Jake's hair.
"Yeah, I can see why you like it," he said. "It's a calming sound, especially when it's heavy like this."

He paused for a moment, his eyes drifting back down to Jake's face."How are you so awake right now? You're usually dead to the world during the night."

Jake laughed, "Sometimes babe. When there is a party you know we're partying until the next morning." He joked. "But in all seriousness, I don't know. I felt you shift or something and it woke me up. And usually when i wake up i kinda.. just talk I guess. I don't know."

Carrington chuckled at Jake's response, amused by his blunt honesty."So you're telling me that if I start to move around too much, I might end up with a half-asleep conversation partner in the middle of the night?" he teased.

Jake shrugged, "Sure" he replied, cluelessly to what exactly Carrington met but he smiled anyway.

Carrington chuckled again, shaking his head in fond exasperation.
