Jake is seated on the couch in the living room. His eyes glued to his phone as he is scrolling and texting people he forgot to message.
Jake's focus was completely on his phone. He didn't even notice Carrington's presence until the other boy walked in front of him, blocking his view.
"What are you doing?" Carrington asked, putting his hands on his hips as he looked down at Jake.
Jake lifted his head. "Huh?" As his brown eyes made eye contact before he lifted his phone so he can see it again.
Carrington rolled his eyes at the response, before he grabbed the phone from Jake's hands. "I said," he repeated, "what are you doing?"
Jake giggles, "Just scrolling." He replied to Carrington's question as he takes his phone back and clicked it off.
"And texting." Carrington added, sitting down beside Jake. "Who were you texting?"
"Just people i forgot to text because i accidentally ghost people." Jake replied with a shrug.
Carrington rolled his eyes once more, a playful smirk on his face. "Of course you did. You're terrible at remembering things."
"Hey thats mean." Jake replied, the sarcastic tone went over his head as he crossed his arms.
Carrington chuckled, amused by Jake's reaction. "It's the truth, though." He teased, nudging Jake playfully. "You're lucky you have me to remind you of everything."
"I don't get it." Jake replied, trying to process which tones Carrington was using. But it wasn't.. clicking.
Carrington sighed, shaking his head in mock disappointment. "You're so oblivious sometimes." He said, poking Jake's cheek. "I was joking, you know."
"Oh," Jake replied once he understood. He nodded, "Right. Jeez." As he pinched the bridge of his nose.
Carrington chuckled again, finding Jake's confusion adorable. "You're cute."
"you don't mean that," Jake replied.
Carrington leaned closer to Jake, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "I do mean it, though. You're adorable when you're trying to figure things out." He said, his voice low and playful.
"Hey!" Jake exclaimed as he playfully pushed Carrington. "Don't even!-"
Carrington laughed, clearly enjoying teasing Jake. "What? It's true!." He said, wrapping his arm around Jake's shoulders.
Jake saw this as a friendly interaction, but in Carrington's intention he meant it as more.
Carrington continued to keep his arm around Jake, pulling him a little closer. He was definitely more interested in Jake than he was letting on, and the playful banter was just a way to get closer to him.
"You know," he said, his voice dropping to a whisper. "I love the way you pout when you're frustrated. It's adorable."
Jake blushes a bit when he realized how close they gotten. He laughed this off, since it was going over his head again.
Carrington noticed the blush on Jake's cheeks, and it only fueled his desire to tease him further. He leaned in even closer, his lips just inches away from Jake's ear.
"You're blushing," he whispered, his breath hot against Jake's skin.
Jake laughed, "You're a bit close huh?" He asked, the tones and flirtatiousness is going right over Jake's head.
