Jake and Carrington are laying flat on their backs in the movie room's couch. No movie was on, it was quiet inside the room. With just the two of them there.

Carrington was in his thoughts, his hands behind his head as he laid back. His eyes were on the ceiling, not saying anything.

"I'm bored." He finally spoke up, looking over at Jake.

"Well lets talk so you aren't bored," Jake replied. Looking at Carrington with a relaxed expression.

Carrington raised an eyebrow, shifting a little on the couch to get comfortable. "About what?" He asked, "I can't think of anything."

"Well you were quiet for a while. I noticed that. You were in your head. Is something bothering you?" Jake asked as be ruffles up his hair and then laid his head down on Carrington's lap.

Carrington was a little surprised by the sudden action, but didn't push Jake off of him. He rested a hand on the boy's head, running his fingers through his hair as he thought.

"Nothing is really bothering me," he said, "I just can't seem to get my mind off something..."

Jake giggles a bit. "But isn't that what bothering means? When something is like so stuck in your head that you just can't get rid of it?" He asked as he moved his hands animatedly as he talked.

Carrington chuckled, finding Jake's mannerisms endearing. "You're a smart ass, you know that?" He teased, giving the boy a playful flick on the forehead.

"Ow, i was just asking!" Jake pouted, but he was being serious. When he comes to conversations like this, he tries his hardest to understand how the person is feeling, and wants to be super caring about it.

Carrington smiled as he saw Jake pout, it was cute. He knew that Jake was being serious though, so he decided to humor him.
"You're right," he said, "but I don't know what to do about it."

"Well the best thing to do about it is talk to someone. So they can listen to you and be there for you. It's not good to hold it back or brush it aside." Jake replied, bouncing one of his legs as he talked.

Carrington nodded in agreement. "Yeah, I guess you're right," he said, continuing to run his fingers through Jake's hair. "It's just...I'm not really good at opening up to people, you know?"

"Yeah i feel you. I'm not good at it either, but i try my hardest to be genuine with how i feel or the emotions i feel like in that moment so like it'll uh like make more sense to the person. i guess. Sometimes it's just hard to put how you feel though into like exact words. But its ok to just like try." Jake leaned into the touch of his hair being played with.

Carrington was impressed by Jake's words. He hadn't expected the boy to have such an understanding.

"You're really smart, you know that?" Carrington said, "I like how genuine you are. You're a good listener."

Jake snickers, looking up at the other boy. "Thanks dude," A little smile crept up on his face.

Carrington couldn't help but smile back, finding Jake's snicker adorable. He continued to play with the boy's hair, enjoying the comfortable silence between them.

"Can I ask you something?" He asked, breaking the silence.

"Mm, what is it?" Jake replied as he is relaxed into the feeling of his hair being played with. "You can ask me anything."
