The next morning came rolling in. It was raining outside. Jake is sitting up. He has exhausted eyes and they looked empty and puffy still from last night's events.
Carrington woke up to the sound of rain pattering against the window, the dim light of the overcast morning seeping into the room.
He blinked his eyes open and saw Jake sitting up beside him, his exhausted eyes staring out the window.
He immediately noticed the empty and puffy look in Jake's eyes, a pang of worry going through his chest.
He reached out and gently placed a hand on Jake's thigh, his touch light and comforting."Hey, baby," he murmured softly. "How are you feeling?"
"Feeling fine." Jake muttered as he is rocking a bit. Keeping his gaze outside on the rainy window panes.
Carrington watched as Jake muttered his response, noting the slight rocking motion he was making. He knew him well enough to recognize that he was clearly not feeling fine, but he also knew better than to push him.
He moved closer to Jake, sitting up against the headboard and wrapping an arm around his shoulders, gently pulling him against his chest."You're not a very good liar, you know," he teased lightly, rubbing his arm soothingly.
Jake leaned back. Picking at the skin on his lips as he is looking out the window. As he is gazing out the window. "Tired."
Carrington noticed the way Jake was picking at his lips, a habit he had when he was stressed or anxious. He gently reached up and took his hand in his own, stopping him from picking.
"I can see that," he said softly, his thumb rubbing soothing circles on the back of Jake's hand. "You had a rough night, sweetheart."
Jake rubs his hands together before he reached up and tugged a bit on his hair. "..yeah, still thinking about it." He muttered the truth.
Carrington's heart clenched as he saw Jake tugging on his hair, a telltale sign of his anxiety. He gently intertwined their fingers, stopping him from pulling at his hair any further.
"It's okay to think about it Jake," he said gently, squeezing his hand reassuringly. "It was a lot. But you're safe now, baby. I'm here with you."
Jake sighed. He felt his stomach growl and groaned at the thought of eating food. But he knows he has to get ready for the day rather than stay in the bed.
Carrington chuckled softly at the sound of Jake's stomach growling, the noise loud and unmistakable in the otherwise quiet room.
"Sounds like someone's hungry," he teased, rubbing his hand over his stomach. "You should probably get up and eat something, baby."
"Don't want too." Jake replied. His brown gaze on the rainy window. He is fidgeting with his snake bites, biting them and such.
Carrington frowned as he saw Jake fidgeting with his snake bites, a habit he knew he did when he was feeling particularly stressed or overwhelmed.
He gently reached up and placed a hand on his cheek, gently turning his head away from the window and towards him instead.
"I know you don't want too Jake, but you need to eat something," he said firmly but gently. "You need the energy, baby. You can't just sit here and pick at your piercings all day."
