[ TW: severe mental illness, suicidal thoughts, smoking ]
-----------------------------------
Jake was laying in the middle of the road. Flat on his back. He brought his cigarette up to his lips, pressing it against them as he took a sharp inhale.
The cloud of smoke filled his lungs as the nicotine rushed over him. He pulled the cigarette back and exhaled the cloud of smoke into the night starry sky.
"Hey, hey, hey," Carrington chuckled, walking up the road. "You can't be laying down in the middle of the road, you know." He knelt down, peering down at the other. "You're gonna get hit by a car, or something."
That's when Carrington realized - there was no random stranger on the ground. It was Jake. His roommate, his best friend, his crush -... his everything.
Carrington's eyes widened as he finally recognized Jake. "Jake?" he asked, his voice filled with a mix of surprise and concern.
"What are you doing out here? You can't just lay in the middle of the road like that." He sat down beside Jake, looking down at him with a frown.
"I just came out here to think." Jake responded. Not budging from his spot. He brought the cigarette back to his lips and took a long drag. The smoke filled up his mouth as he blew a ring.
Carrington raised an eyebrow at Jake's response. "Thinking, huh?" he said, a hint of skepticism in his voice.
"You do know that lying in the middle of the road isn't the best place to do that, right?" He reached out and plucked the cigarette from Jake's lips, taking a drag of it himself.
Jake laughed softly. His eyes looked over towards Carrington, - observing his roommate taking a drag off the nicotine stick.
Jake's eyes are enhanced by some red eyeshadow underneath his bottom lids, and some black eyeliner.
He rarely wore makeup, but it looked super good, and the night light of the moon reflected on his face, enhancing his features and red bright hair.
Carrington couldn't help but notice the makeup on Jake's face. He had to admit, it looked good on him.
He took another drag of the cigarette before speaking again. "You're looking good tonight," he said, a smirk playing on his lips. "Did you put on makeup just for me?"
Jake hums - amused. As he wiggled his fingers, itching the crave of nicotine once again. "Maybe." He replied, teasingly.
Carrington chuckled, taking another drag of the cigarette before passing it back to Jake.
