cw: unwanted stims, lack of unhealthy sleep, brief yelling

__________________________________________

Jake is walking downstairs. It is late at night, and he is heading to the kitchen for a quick drink.

As Jake made his way down the stairs and headed towards the kitchen, he noticed that the lights were still on. He yawned softly, wondering who was still up at this hour.

Jake turned his head when he noticed his boyfriend Carrington coming downstairs. Then he looked back at the fridge and opened it, grabbing a water bottle.

Carrington followed Jake into the kitchen, a tired but soft smile on his face. He leaned against the counter, watching as his boyfriend grabbed a water bottle from the fridge."Can't sleep?" he asked, his voice low and quiet to not disturb the silence of the house.

"No" Jake replied as he shut the fridge door. When they make a brief eye contact. Jake clearly has dark circles underneath his eyes. He opened the lid of water and took a few sips from it.

Carrington's smile faded as he noticed the dark circles under Jake's eyes. Concern etched across his face as he studied his boyfriend's tired expression.

"Have you been getting enough sleep?" he asked, his voice laced with worry. He pushed himself off the counter and walked over to Jake, gently placing a hand on his shoulder.

Jake shakes his head. Putting the water bottle aside and then heading back upstairs. As he is walking down the hallway, he noticed Carrington is following.

Carrington silently followed Jake down the hallway, his footsteps soft and light. He walked closely behind him, watching as he walked back upstairs. He couldn't help but feel a pang of worry in his chest, knowing that Jake hadn't been sleeping well.

Jake sat on the bed. Gripping at his hair tightly before laying back on the bed. "I just can't,"

Carrington frowned as he watched Jake sit down on the bed, gripping his hair tightly in frustration. He sat down next to him, gently taking his hands and prying them away from his hair.

"Hey, don't do that," he said softly, rubbing his thumb over Jake's knuckles soothingly. "You're gonna hurt yourself."

Jake looked at Carrington. "Sorry," as he sits up. "I just can't sleep, it's been three days!"

Carrington's frown deepened as he heard that it had been three days since Jake had gotten any proper sleep. He gently squeezed his hands, concern and worry filling his eyes.

"Three days? Why haven't you been sleeping?" he asked, his voice laced with concern. He scooted closer to Jake, wrapping an arm around his shoulders and pulling him close.

Jake pulled back and slammed his hands onto his legs. "I DON'T KNOW!" He yelled in frustration as he grabbed at his hair. "I just can't! I get all like- I don't know- ! It just happens."

Carrington's eyes widened in surprise as Jake yelled and slammed his hands onto his legs, his frustration and agitation evident. He gently reached out to grab his wrists, stopping him from pulling at his hair again.

"Hey, calm down," he said firmly but gently, his grip on Jake's wrists firm yet gentle. "Yelling and pulling your hair isn't going to help, okay?"

Jake slams his hands on his legs again as he is rocking. "For some reason my brain wants me to do stuff. That's why i recently reorganized my closet and cleaned and reorganized my shelf."

Carrington's grip on Jake's wrists tightened slightly as he slammed his hands on his legs again. He could feel the frustration and anxiety radiating off of him as he mentioned the urge to do things, and the fact that he had been reorganizing and cleaning everything made it even more concerning.
