It was the middle of the night. Jake woke up inside his room. Thinking about his crush and roommate Carrington, however those thoughts were washed away and the addiction of nicotine crawled into his head.

Jake gets out of bed. Slipping on his shirt and staying in his Pajamas. He sneaked down the hallway. His footsteps were walking past Carrington's door which stirred the other roommate. But Jake hasn't noticed.

Jake sped downstairs and slipped on his converse all-stars.

Carrington groaned as he woke up to the sound of Jake’s footsteps. He yawned, slowly sitting up in his bed and looking at the clock.

“3 am…?” He muttered to himself.
He rolled out of bed, not even bothering to change out of his pajamas before making his way out into the hallway.

He was tired, and the only reason he was awake was because he was now curious as to where Jake was going at such a time.

Jake grabbed his phone, keys and wallet and stood up. He walked to the front door and opened it. Just as Carrington walked downstairs, he sees the door fling shut and Jake was soon enough gone.

Jake walked himself towards his car, he got inside. He woke up because his withdrawals are getting so bad that he is even dreaming about smoking.

Especially recently when Jake was smoking cigarettes at parties and relapsing only a few weeks ago. He coughed as he started his car, the headlights turning on.

Carrington stared at the front door for a few seconds, dumbfounded. He then groaned in annoyance and went to the kitchen. He grabbed a glass and filled it with water before chugging it down, sighing.

”Where the hell are you going…” He mumbled to himself, knowing that he was probably out for a smoke.

Jake was beginning to back-out of his driveway parking spot. And Carrington knew that he has to do something. He knows Jake is trying to quit smoking.

Carrington placed his glass into the sink before quickly walking out of the house and following after Jake’s car.

Carrington stopped in front of the car, blocking the path and making it impossible for Jake to drive. He leaned against the hood of his car with his arms crossed, a stern expression on his face.

Jake got startled, "Gah?!" He exclaimed but thankfully saw Carrington with the headlights being on. He rolled his window down, "Jesus fuck you scared the crap out of me! What the fuck are you doing?!"

Carrington rolled his eyes and placed a hand on the window. “What the hell do you think I’m doing? I’m stopping you from doing something stupid.” He said firmly, leaning down a bit to look at him.

Jake furrowed his eyebrows for a moment before he scoffed. "Doing – what the fuck do you think I'm doing, huh?" He asked defensingly. "Why are you awake? How did you even hear me go outside?"

Carrington raised an eyebrow at his defensive tone.”You’re not being subtle, that’s for sure.” He said sarcastically. “And I heard you go outside because you’re loud as hell, dumbass.”

Jake rolled his eyes. "Carrington, I'm gonna be right back. 'Kay? Go inside. Get off my car."

Carrington didn’t move an inch. Instead, he placed his hands on his hips and stood there stubbornly.
