Jake is walking downstairs, phone in his hand. Once he reached the bottom of the steps, he accidentally bumped into Carrington and dropped his phone in the process. "oh– sorry!"
Carrington was taken by surprise as Jake bumped into him, stumbling slightly as he was caught off guard. His eyes widened in surprise before he let out a chuckle.
"Careful there," he said, steadying himself before bending down to pick up Jake's phone. "You're gonna break that thing if you keep dropping it like that."
Jake grasped the phone. Their fingers touched and he couldn't help but feel a bit of blush rise to his face. He smiled awkwardly and avoided eye contact before he walked himself to the kitchen. Wondering what that feeling was when he bumped into his roommate.
Carrington noticed the faint blush on Jake's face as their fingers brushed against each other, but he didn't comment on it. Instead, he watched as Jake awkwardly walked away, his mind racing with thoughts.
He followed him into the kitchen, a small smile playing on his lips as he leaned against the counter. "You okay there, Jakey?" he asked, using the nickname playfully.
"Ye-yeah!" Jake nodded as he bumped into the table before he sat down at the table. Phone in his hands as he is scrolling on it.
Carrington chuckled at Jake's clumsiness, amused by the way he kept bumping into things. He took a seat across from him at the table, still watching him intently.
"You seem a bit distracted Jake," he commented, raising an eyebrow. "What's got you so focused on your phone?"
"Oh just been watching like some random stuff on my phone is all" Jake replied as he sets his phone down. He lifted his head and looked at Carrington. In reality he was scrolling on the models social media account.
Carrington tilted his head, curious about what kind of "random stuff" Jake was watching. He had a feeling there was more to it than he was letting on, but he decided not to push the subject.
He leaned forward, resting his chin on his hand as he looked at Jake. "Random stuff, huh? Like what kind of stuff?" he asked, a hint of a smirk on his face.
"oh just what i usually watch" Jake dismissed as he grabbed his phone and puts it in his pocket.
Carrington could tell that Jake was trying to brush off the question, but he wasn't going to let it go that easily. He leaned back in his chair, studying Jake's expression.
"And what exactly is 'what you usually watch'?" he asked, his smirk growing wider. "You're not exactly giving me much to go on here, Jakey."
Jake shrugged, "and why are you so curious?" He asked and leaned forward. Looking up at Carrington with a little smile.
Carrington chuckled, enjoying the playful banter between them. He leaned forward as well, his eyes locking with Jake's.
"Because I like to know what's going on in that head of yours Jake," he said, his voice low and smooth. "And because I'm a little bit nosy."
Jake rolled his eyes at this response. "Well then stay curious," as he flicked Carrington's head and got up walking out of the kitchen.
Carrington let out a small laugh as Jake flicked his head and walked out of the kitchen. He rubbed the spot where he had been flicked, a playful pout on his face.
"Hey, no need to get violent!" he called after him, his tone light and teasing. "I'm just trying to look out for you, Jakey."
Jake is scrolling on Instagram once again, looking at pictures of Carrington. His heart fluttered at the sight of the pictures.
