TW: arguing, ditching, drunk behavior, emotional pain, yelling , smoking

__________________________________________
Jake and Carrington are driving home from a party. Carrington was driving because Jake was too drunk to drive. But they started to argue in the car.

Jake yelled in a drunk fit, "I don't understand!"

Carrington's grip on the steering wheel tightened as he gritted his teeth. He tried to keep his focus on the road, but Jake's yelling was making it difficult."What don't you understand?" He asked, his voice firm.

"Why you fucking said that at that damn party! Why Chase was- was all up on ya!" Jake slurs. He secretly has a crush on Carrington and seeing Chase flirt with him is what hurt his feelings.

Carrington's eyes widened as he realized what Jake was talking about. He glanced over at his friend for a moment before returning his gaze to the road.

"Are you talking about Chase? You know I didn't want him flirting with me. I've told him countless times that I'm not interested," he explained, his voice softer than before.

Jake slurs, "LIAR-! DON'T EVEN-" He shakes his head, and hiccups. "Im,- done with this conversation.." he hiccups. "Pull over."

Carrington sighed heavily, frustrated with Jake's behavior. He could tell that his friend was drunk and angry, but he didn't understand why he was so upset about Chase.

He reluctantly pulled the car over to the side of the road and put it in park. He turned to face Jake, his expression serious.
"What do you mean you're done with this conversation? We're not finished talking about this."

"Well I'm done!" Jake slurs. "I'm walking home." He exited the car and stumbled out.

Carrington watched as Jake stumbled out of the car, his heart sinking. He knew that he shouldn't have let Jake leave like this, but he also didn't want to argue with him while he was drunk.

"Jake, wait!" He called out, getting out of the car and rushing after his friend.

"No! I'm walking home! I'll meet you there!" Jake shouts back and gave Carrington the middle finger before stumbling off.

Carrington watched helplessly as Jake walked away, the middle finger he was given making him feel even more guilty. He stood there for a moment, contemplating what to do.

He didn't want Jake to be walking home alone, especially in his current state. He knew that it was a bad idea to let him go, but he also knew that Jake wouldn't listen to reason right now.

Jake ditched Carrington and is stumbling home. Rain began to pour. Which sobered him up fast. Meanwhile Carrington is hesitantly driving back to the house.

The rain started to pour down heavily, soaking Jake to the bone. It felt cold and miserable, but it was sobering him up.

As he continued to stumble home, he realized that maybe he had overreacted. He shouldn't have stormed off like that, but he couldn't help the way he felt when he saw Chase flirting with Carrington.

Jake sighed. "How stupid of me.." He muttered as he is halfway home. He hesitantly takes out his phone. It was at 5%. He quickly calls Carrington.

Carrington was on his way back home when his phone rang. He saw that it was Jake and quickly answered the call, a mixture of worry and relief flooding through him.

"Jake? Where are you?" He asked, his voice filled with concern.

"Don't know, but my phone is at 5% it's gonna die" Jake replied, "I think I'm near the 7-eleven by our place."
