A/N: I actually loved this one, and getting to write about a cool underwater themed ball.. that is also underwater was SO much fun! It reminds me of some of my fave filler (yes it's the foxy stuff, especially the one in the waterpark.. do not judge me). Anyway Zoro is sososo rarely requested, and tbh I really enjoy writing him bc he's a different kind of stoic from Law, he's got a slither more emotion so yeah!!

The afternoon sun beat down mercilessly on the Thousand Sunny's deck, turning the polished wood warm beneath your soles as you crept forward with calculated steps.

Your daggers felt perfectly balanced in your grip, familiar and comfortable after years of wielding them. The ocean stretched endlessly in all directions, a sight you'd become accustomed to aboard this chaotic ship you now called home. The glittering expanse of blue should have been peaceful, serene even, but peace had never been your forte.

Your eyes locked onto your target with predatory focus. There, sprawled beneath the shade of the mast with his back propped against a coiled rope, was Zoro. The swordsman's chest rose and fell in the steady rhythm of deep sleep, his arms crossed over his torso, three swords resting at his hip as always.

His green hair caught the filtered sunlight, he slept in a way that might have been endearing if you weren't currently plotting his ambush. A grin spread across your face, wild and eager. Perfect.

You'd been the newest edition to the Straw Hats, and in the time you'd been with them, you'd developed something of a reputation. While Luffy collected crew members like treasure, you'd found your place among them not through some grand declaration or dramatic rescue but through sheer, stubborn persistence.

You fought well, laughed easily, and never backed down from a challenge. The latter quality had led you into an ongoing rivalry with the crew's resident swordsman, a rivalry that, admittedly, was somewhat one sided.

Zoro didn't seem particularly invested in your constant challenges. In fact, he seemed downright irritated by them most of the time, but that had never stopped you before.

You bent your knees, coiling your muscles like a spring as you positioned your daggers. The twin blades gleamed in the sunlight, their edges honed to perfection thanks to your obsessive maintenance routine.

Around you, the sunny continued its lazy drift across calm waters. Somewhere below deck, you knew your other crew mates were going through their mornings. Usopp likely working on something. Franky too. Sanji in the galley preparing an afternoon snack.

Robin might be reading in the library. Chopper the infirmary. Nami was probably checking her maps or the weather patterns. Brook, well, Brook could be anywhere, probably composing another song. Jinbe was steering and Luffy.. well who knew, but none of that mattered right now.

Right now, there was only you, your daggers, and the infuriatingly skilled swordsman who had the audacity to nap when you were spoiling for a fight. You took a breath, feeling the ocean breeze tangle through your hair, then exploded into motion.
