A peaceful night breeze caresses my skin as I stood outside the perimeter of house of both Ben and Artina along with Alya and Nikita.
On a spot of the Ben residence, where there was a large, opened space where many wooden tables and chairs were set up beneath a giant tree that had many different branches extended from the side.
The villagers were lively as the sounds of laughter's and chattery sounded from here and there.
A beautiful melody played along with the constant sound of glass cheers rising from the many villagers gathered here.
On the many wooden tables lined up, there were many kinds of different foods placed there.
An appetizing scent waffled through the air as it was easily carried by the nights breeze reaching the nose of those outside, stimulating everyone's appetites.
However, before that the village chief, Artina claps her hands together, gathering everyone's attention.
She scanned her eyes around and once she notices that everyone's attentions were on her she smiled before opening up her mouth.
"Good afternoon, to those here, while tonight can be considered as both a good night and a bad night to all of us here."
She said in a soft tone before continuing. And for a moment a sad expression flashed across her face.
"While many of our fellow villagers have returned to us, there are still many who hadn't made it back...."
She said gently, following that the sound of sobbing resounded from here and there, I looked around my surroundings while secretly observing the villagers.
(Hmm! That guy from the forest, is he not here?)
I wondered confused, the bearded guy who was too scared to enter the cave was not among those present. I wonder if he made it back okay.
He didn't get attack by any monster, did he? Well even if he did, he was the one who chose to stay behind, his fate was left in his own hands.
While I was thinking that Artina's speech was reaching its end.
"But even so, tonight shall celebrate the safe returned of our loved ones, because as we are alive, we all have the right to celebrate that we are alive. I also want to take this chance to once again thank the brave adventurers for helping us in our time of need so... once again, thank you Sir Haruto, lady Alya and lady Nikita."
Artina said bowing her head deeply.
"Thank you!"
The villagers all shouted.
"It was nothing."
I said somewhat awkwardly. Alya wore a proud smile on her face, while Nikita bowed her head softly.
"Now that those formalities are out of the way, let the feast begins!"
Artina had signalled the beginning of the feast.
"Mm! This meat is really good."
Such mutter came from a beautiful woman, with long silver hair that shone dazzlingly beneath the silver moon, her nine silver fox tails swayed from side to side happily as she munched down on a piece of chicken leg, her mouth turning upwards into a cheerful smile. Sitting next to her was a fairy like beauty with long green hair that swayed gently in the night breeze, her eyes were like pure gemstone.
The spirit of wind, Alya nodded her head with a great amount of vigour.
"Yes! Though, it's not only the food, but the liquor here is also good."
