"Just now, you said the seal is tainted with the power of chaos, didn't you?"
Vaerisse asked with narrow eyes. While she could detect magical energy as a high elf with a strong affinity for mana and, to some extent, spiritual energy, chaos was beyond her sensory capacity.
"... Yes, although the presence is faint, there is no mistaking it. The power of chaos is slowly corroding the seal. I estimate it will probably only take a few years at best until the seal is broken."
Livia explained, her brow furrowing into a deep frown. What she was most concerned about was not the reason the power of chaos could appear in this world of all places, but who could have brought it here.
The number of high-ranking beings who could potentially wield chaos safely was so meagre she could hardly consider many options, but it was that scarcity that bothered her so much.
(It really is unforgivable. To think someone would dare to target this world... The place I swore I'd protect.)
Despite appearing outwardly calm, Livia was seething with fury. If there were still a trace or connection to the perpetrator who had wielded the power of chaos, she would've eliminated them directly, but...
"It's no use, whoever had set up this layer of chaos around the seal had already severed all connections and erased all their presence already, I can't even tell if they are still somewhere in this world right now."
Livia bit her lips as she uttered words of irritation.
"Indeed, there is nearly an infinite number of worlds; if whoever had erected that layer of chaos was in another world, it would be nigh impossible to find them. However, the power of chaos is not something so easily controlled that one could do it remotely, isn't it?"
Vaerisse said with a stern frown. Considering the difficulty of wielding primordial energy, she assumed it must have taken considerable effort. Unless...
"Did you detect the opening of an origin gate?"
Vaerisse inquired. When it comes to a method of traversing across worlds, the most effective and common way is to directly open an origin gate.
A technique used to connect one space to another. The God of Creation could directly move to any world with a thought, but for those under him, they had to open an origin gate.
(But it was extremely difficult to conceal the opening of an origin gate... Even if it was at one thousand, ten thousand, twenty thousand kilometres, there is no way I'd miss it, which means...)
"Perhaps whoever it was had come directly from outer space?"
Vaerisse wondered, tilting her head slightly in doubt. Entering a world directly through outer space wouldn't be considered odd; in fact, anyone with a decent amount of power or, at the very least, some influence over the laws of the world could do so with little effort.
"No, that's most likely not the case. If they did enter this world directly from outer space, then Aegis, the world's barrier, would have reacted to them."
(Besides... The laws imposed by the Creator would've stripped them of their powers the moment they entered the barrier.)
Livia placed a finger at her lips and wrinkled her brow, seemingly lost in thought. There was a delicate balance in each world to maintain that certain laws were created.
Those with divinity had to obey those laws. It was to prevent the collapse of each world; this world in particular imposes stricter restrictions. And that was that those with divinity were significantly weakened.
