"What brings you here?" I smiled.
"Checking up on you," He smiled back.
"I'm fine."
"That's good. What happened?" He questioned.
"Nothing."
August looked uncertain. After an awkward moment of silence he looked around the family room.
"Wow big family! Who is everyone?" He asked pointing to a picture on the wall taken a year and a half a go.
"Well they are my parents and that's me," I showed him.
"And the other people?" He beamed eagerly.
"Well that's Calum. He's twenty now. He was nineteen in the picture though. And that's Kiki, she's eight now and she was seven in that picture," I said.
"And that's my twin sister, May. She was fifteen like me in that picture."
"Cool."
"Not cool," I sighed.
"Huh?"
"Well she would have celebrated her sixteenth birthday with me in September but she couldn't make it."
"Oh? Why not?" He asked, his chocolatey eyes staring into my glassy, green ones.
"She was in the wrong place at the wrong time," I sighed.
"Meaning?" He said quietly.
"Meaning...." I paused.
"Meaning, she was on a road and a car came along and now she's gone." I burst into tears.August put his arm around me. My whole body felt electric at his touch. I then felt a blush appearing on my cheeks.
"I'm sorry. I didn't know. Please July, don't cry. Don't let yourself suffer. May wouldn't want you to."
I kept crying.
"Look losses happen I would know. I lost my Mom when I was ten."
"Oh, I'm sorry," I said, feeling my cheeks redden.
"But I realise that this loss was recent and I gather it was why you moved?" He said softly.
I nodded.
"It was a week before our sweet sixteen," I howled.
"That's tough. But look, if May were in the room would she want this?"
"Want what?" I sobbed.
"Want you here crying your eyes out?"
"No," I admitted.
"She'd give me a twin slap," I laughed.
"See good memories!" He smiled.
"Yeah but her death cancel out the good," I sniffed.
"Tell me about her, about ye," He said.
"Well... We were really close and had a whole load of code words. We were always playing together when we were younger. Oh and we had these face signals to indicate our emotions that no one understood. We told each other EVERYTHING and we laughed like everyday, trust me, we were the two most immature teenagers ever sometimes!" I giggled, remembering all the happy memories of us both.
"See, happy memories. You only have one sad one but look at all the happy ones! And I'm sure there's even more."
"I guess you're right. I'm just bad at accepting things. But thank you" I whispered. He placed a hand on my shoulder and stared at me.
"Look at me." He said quietly. I stared into his chocolate brown eyes.
"I know things are hard. But they get better. I promise, " He whispered.
I was about to say something when he put he grabbed my hands and began pulling me towards him. The world melted away at his touch. My cheeks began to turn bright red. I stared into his eyes. Why was he doing this? He has a girlfriend! Maybe he likes me?
He obviously doesn't like you! He has the prettiest girl in school as his girlfriend. Face the facts!
There was almost no gap between our bodies. My breathing got heavier. He kept staring at me and began eyeing my lips. He bit his own lip and tried to focus elsewhere. But his gaze kept falling back on my lips and soon his face started coming closer to mine. His lips then touched off my own softly and I kissed him back.
He pressed against my lips harder as the kiss got more intense.
And when I thought it couldn't get any better his mouth opened and he licked my lips looking for a passage. I could see the nervousness in his eyes. I opened my mouth, to his relief and let my tongue meet his.I always thought the idea of mixing saliva with someone was totally gross and disgusting. That was until I was there, doing that exact thing with August.
The whole world disappeared. I felt lost, alive, safe, ecstatic and much more emotions that all combined together. I was in a complete whirl.
