He took me to a lovely, hidden restaurant which overlooked the sea.
"It's beautiful."
"Yeah I know right."We walked inside together. The place had a long corridor with paintings on the walls. The floor was polished and my shoes squeaked on it as we walked. August just found that funny. He took my hand and we walked through the doors at the end of the corridor laughing.
I gasped when I saw the inside of the next room. It had huge windows with the beach below in full view. There was soft music being played that joined the sound of the sea with its crashing waves. A huge chandelier hung from the celling and there was a vase of flowers and a candle on every table. The place was dotted with rose petals as well.
"Wow!"
August just smiled and kissed my cheek.
"Do you have a reservation?" said a woman with a clipboard and pen in her hand. She had sleek, black hair tied into a bun. Her eyes were a chocolaty brown that reminded me of August's.
"Yes," August said.
"Name?"
"August Cantwell."
She checked her clipboard and ticked off a name. She smiled and showed a set of dazzling, white teeth. August looked troubled for a minute.
"You look familiar, what is your name?" He asked.
"My name is Susan Baker, and I've worked at quite a few schools in the past so perhaps I worked at yours? Where do you go to school?"
"Rosemill High," he replied.
"Oh yes! I worked there for a little while about a year and a half ago," she exclaimed.
"Oh."
"Yeah, but I don't remember you're face before though," she sighed.
"Well enough chitchat, this way to your table," she said.We followed her to the nicest table the place had. It was right by the window so it overlooked the beach. Fairy lights were strung along the window to make the table feel even more magical.
"This is amazing," I gasped.
August and Susan laughed.
"Her first time here?" She asked.
"Yes," August smiled.
"So I'll leave you two settle down and I'll be back to take your order," she said, grabbing the reserve sign off the table and walking away.We both sat down.
"August this is magical," I smiled.
"I know, that's why I brought you here. Because...." He trailed off.
"Because?"
August blushed.
"Because you make me feel magical so I wanted to bring you somewhere to show you that feeling," he looked down, turning red with embarrassment.
"Stupid right?" He cringed.
"No it's so sweet, but August, I have you to make me feel magical everyday," I said.
August blushed further. I then bit my lip wondering if I'd said the wrong thing.
"Do you think I'd set myself on fire if I leaned over and kissed you?" August laughed, looking down at the large candle holder.
I laughed too, relieved that he didn't think I sounded like an idiot.
"I can fix that, but first I'll let you guys order."We looked up to see Susan smiling at us. We both blushed.
"Oh don't worry this place was made for couples, There's no shame in wanting to kiss her," she laughed at August.
I laughed with her.
"You two make a totally cute couple."
We both smiled even more.
"So what would you like to order?"We had a look at the menu and ordered our food. I ordered the homemade tomato soup and freshly baked bread for a starter and I ordered a burger with chips and vegetables for my main course. It wasn't anything special but it was simple. The woman wrote it down in a little notebook.
"Okay now to fix your problem," she said.
She walked off with the large candle holder and came back with a much smaller one. She tucked it out if the way and walked off."I think someone owes me a kiss," I giggled.
August laughed and leaned over. I met his lips over the middle of the table. It made the place ten times more magical than it was already. When we broke apart August said,
"Is that good enough for you?"
I just laughed.
"So how are things for you at the moment?" August asked.
"Not great but at least I have you, my Dad hasn't stopped a using me," I sighed.
"How are things for you?" I asked.
"Well Roxanne keeps sending me horrible messages but otherwise I'm good. Plus you cancel out any bad she gives me."
"Well she's been sending me horrible messages for ages," I sighed again.
"Seriously?"
"Yeah."
"Well sod her, I have you now."
I smiled.
"I remember when I first fell for you," I blushed, looking down.
"I remember when I first fell for you," August smiled.
"When?" I asked.
"Nah you first."
"Fine, it was at Roxanne's first movie night when I heard you sing that song,."
"Well that's when I fell for you as well. I started singing and suddenly it wasn't for Roxanne anymore it was for you. And that's why I kept sending you songs. It was when I first fell for you so it was the one way I could express my feelings to you," he said.
"Thank you," I whispered.
"For what?"
"For caring about me and giving me hope."
"Same goes to you."
I blushed and leaned over the table.
"You're not getting away from this kiss," I laughed.
"Trust me. I don't want to," he said before meeting my lips.
When we finally broke apart we saw Susan standing with our starters in her hands.
We both went red."I see I fixed that problem," she smiled.
"Yes thank you," I said, still red.
"Guys I have a little bit of advice for you, don't be ashamed to kiss here, that's kind of the idea of this place," she said handing us our food and walking away.
We both tucked in. When we were finished I put my hand in August's.
"I can't believe I left you suffer," August sighed.
"Don't worry about it."
"Man it was hard," August said.
"What?"
"The amount of times I just wanted to kiss you," he blushed.
"Really?" I smiled.
"Yeah, I was tempted once to stop the lesson once and hug you when you looked depressed."
"Oh August, I missed you," I sighed.
"I missed you too July."
"No really, even though you were in the same building as me it felt like you were on another planet,"
"Trust me July, I felt the same."
I smiled.
"This is way too cliché!" I laughed.
August agreed and laughed with me.
Our main courses came and we started eating. We finished them and Susan took them away.
"Are you going to get dessert?" August asked.
"Um..only if you are."
"I guess we are both getting dessert then," he laughed. We ordered the same dessert. The chocolate fudge cake with cream.
When it arrived my stomach began to rumble even though I'd just had a two course meal. It was a slice of chocolate fudge cake with melted chocolate drizzled on top. The cream was at the side and went wonderfully with the cake. We finished and the woman took our plates away.
"Hold still," August said.
"What? Another kiss?" I laughed.
"Nah, I'm not kissing you like that," August laughed.
"Huh?"
"Just hold still!"
"Okay," I laughed.
He picked up a napkin and leaned over the table. He then gently rubbed my face clean.
"There you go chocolate face," he laughed.
"Thank you," I blushed.
I then sighed.
"What's up?"
"I don't want our date to end now."
"Who said its ending?" August smiled.
He told me to put on my coat while he went and paid. He then came back and put his own coat on and we headed to the door."Goodbye," smiled Susan.
"Goodbye and thank you," I said.
"So how long have ye been dating?" Susan smiled.
"Oh we stopped keeping count, uh...it must be something like over a month," I said.
"Really? I was just checking because you guys looked like ye were deeply in love," she winked.
"We are deeply in love" August smiled taking my hand and winking back.We thanked her again and walked out.
"Oh by the way I love your fashion sense," she called to me before we walked outside.A/N
