Take Over

The next day Roxanne ignored me. She just walked through me like I wasn't there.
"Um Roxanne?"
No reply.

On my way to lunch time detention I saw Carmen and Roxanne giggling in a corner. When did they become best friends and where did Cali go? My thoughts rambled. They had races in my head.

I didn't get a chance to talk to August in detention. I didn't actually talk to him until after school detention.
"You okay?" He smiled.
"Ya I suppose. Thank you for the song " I smiled back.
He blushed.
"What did the doctor say?"
"Huh?" I stared at him blankly.
"The doctor. What did they say about your poor wrist?"
"Oh my parents didn't believe it was sore." I said, sadly.
"What? But you had a panic attack over it and knocked yourself unconscious! You should have gone to a doctor straight away!"
"Look I'm fine, I didn't have a panic attack did I?"
"You did." He sighed.
And then Ms Parks walked in.

I didn't realise why Roxanne was ignoring me until I got my electronics back two days later. When I turned on my phone it wouldn't shut up with notifications. I was tagged in a picture on Carmen's FaceBook and all the other notifications were shares, likes and comments. I gulped as the picture was loading and then stared in horror at it.

It was me and August in the emergency room, kissing. How did Carmen take that photo? The caption was 'July Summers, Bitch and Betrayer. Forcing August into it.' And then I made the stupid mistake to check the comments.

There was much more but I didn't want to look. I stared seeing more comments from Roxanne, Cali and Carmen along with other people I knew and didn't know. They all consisted of swear words so I switched off my phone and resented from going on my iPad and laptop. I should never have let my feeling for August take over.
